Don't get it twisted, sister. If she wins, we will just never know why for sure. Quite frankly; if Nicole wins it will make her triumph that much more sweeter. But to be quite honest, I would be even more thrilled if there was a huge upset and SImard walked away with the whole thing. Talk about someone really deserving it.

She always was babe"
No, she wasn’t. And while now she might win, there will always be an Asterix as to the reason why she won. Shame. Real shame. I don’t even think she should’ve been nominated. That’s how much I disliked her Rose."
Agreed. I didn't dislike Audra's Rose as much as many, but I really disliked the revival itself. Nothing would ever convince me to see it again or recommend it to anyone. If Audra wins after everything that transpired in the media recently, it would look like she was chosen by voters solely to stick it to Patti and her big mouth.Too bad Nicole's groundbreaking performance will be a collateral in this whole situation."
Or it will look like she was chosen by voters because hers was the better performance but whatever you need to tell yourself."
Well, some think Audra's performance was better than Nicole's, some insist that she was miscast as Rose altogether. So, which is it? We will find out on Sunday. It's not over till it's over."
Winning Sunday wont change anything for those of us who thought it was a ok Rose in a mediocre Gypsy.

Seems safe to assume that when it comes to the actual winner, many people here will take it as a sign that confirms their own narrative about the race ... as is true most years.

Agreed.
in the past haven’t people done polls of Tony voters or something? Don’t we have any better evidence right now than here-say and fan voices?

Michael Paulson's survey of Tony voters (I think he usually gets around a third of them?) usually comes out Friday before the Tonys

Paulson and Jesse Green are currently answering questions on Reddit if you want to ask them there.
Wow, so Goldbery now saying it might be Nicole? It did say Audra yesterday I thought. When is the last time the best actress award was this close for two acclaimed performances that could go either way? Could it be as far back as 2015 (eg Chenoweth and Kelli?).

You're sure it said Audra yesterday? Because every single time I've looked in the last 5 months it's had Nicole on top. The fact remains that Gold Derby is an awful predictor of the Tony Awards and always has been. I wouldn't put much stock into anything there.
Maybe not yesterday but It does say say in their June 2 update that "For the first time since the Tony Award nominations were announced, Nicole Scherzinger has taken the lead in Gold Derby’s odds to win Best Actress in a Musical."
That said, I'm not precious my memory could be failing and you're right it doesn't necessarily mean anything. I mean they were almost certain that Bernadette was going to get an Old Friends nomination, apparently. That didn't pan out did it!
So I don't see that Patti went on Andy Cohens tv or radio show yesterday. Is this still happening? His tv show would have been last night as it would be the last live one before the Tonys.

If she’s smart, she’ll be quiet and lay low for a minute.
If I were her I would lay low and come out swinging in a few months. And I would swing very hard. We will see if anyone brings it up on Sunday. They would be wise to keep their mouths shuts as well. That open letter really made the so called theater community look ridiculous. The Megyn Kelly reading of the open letter really hits it on the nail. ( and yes.. I think she is a right wing lunatic.. but take a look).

Agreed. Positive any publicist would be saying the same. Don't over-shadow And Just Like That. Plus, any interview would just be a re-tread of all of this.
Well this affect the likelihood of Patti being in the Audra revival of ‘follies’? :(:(:(

Megyn Kelly is a blatant racist. I won't even watch her, but, I'm guessing she's in a mood over the fact that people are claiming racism here.
And, really, why is that open letter ridiculous? I mean, yeah, it wasn't really necessary, but, I'm not sure it's a great look when a privileged white woman verbally attacks two black women? Maybe LuPone should just learn to shut her mouth. Or think about "optics"?
