I may be in the minority, but despite her very good apology, I don't think you reward LuPone having started all this by letting her present the award for Best Actress, especially with Audra in the running. Whomever wins should not have their moment upstaged or in competition with the press attention that LuPone presenting would receive.

They are obviously fueling this. Look at what they posted for news today.
This reads to me like Patti really wanting to help Audra win that Tony. You’ve turned a bunch of people sympathetic for Audra, which must include some Tony voters. If they have any doubt, they would want to vote for Audra to see Patti fail. Which is the result I can be happy with :)

If you want the thread locked somuch, just post something that SuttonRoss finds personally offensive and the mods willhave the thread locked in 5 seconds flat."
Why invoke SuttonRoss’ name here? Is she even involved with this thread?
I haven’t always had perfect interactions with her on these boards, but randomly inserting her name, especially in this context, in a thread she hasn’t been in all that much just feels petty and kinda high school-ish to me.
Also any voter who uses this to decide how they cast their ballots for one of the most hotly-contested categories should never be allowed to be a Tony Awards voter again.

Just checking in…
now we’re onto Patti wanting to help Audra win the Tony… this thread is COMPLETELY UNPREDICTABLE!!!

Props to the BWW community for managing to keep this thread batsh*t crazy long after the "controversy" is over.
They talked about it today on The View. But Whoopi didn’t explain it correctly .

?????
Props to the vigilant contributors who will continue to remind us they CANNOT STAND a thread continuing to exist that they could simply choose not to read.
I don't understand the need to control the discourse, but there it is.

Right??? At first I thought she was a troll. Then she started making me laugh. Now I realize she's the id of this thread.
And then they will complain that the board is slow and no one posts.

She said it was a feud with Audra but then read the portion of Patti’s apology to Keicia. If you didn’t know anything about it you would be lost.

Exactly. And now the YouTube comments are wild (per usual, I guess).
People's ability to comprehend rhetoric devices, or the appalling lack thereof, is truly astounding here. You'd think a bunch of theater people would be able to at least read. Oh well.

Megyn Kelly is a gross right-wing talking head who I normally can’t stand, but her take on this is both funny and accurate. Her “dramatic reading” of the open letter is pretty great.

Are we ever going to hold witch hunters accountable for their actions? It used to be mildly annoying when people were unreasonably sensitive, but now it's starting to get dangerous.
Are we just going to accept that people who can't control their emotions and see reality will be able to close a show, putting dozens of people (many POC) out of work?
Are we just going to accept that witch hunters can band together and make false claims against someone else because they can't control their emotions and see reality?
Are we just going to accept that witch hunters can create a toxic culture that is creating a backlash against progressive politics and leading to Trump winning?
Are we just going to accept that people can intimidate people and threaten to destroy their reputation and livelihood because they can't control their emotions and see reality?
As Megyn Kelly says in the video posted above, "they are self destructing. They are all killing each other so I don't care - we win either way".
Each and every one of us has to stand up against this toxic behaviour and culture before it destroys us (including the people doing this who need leadership and need help as their actions are counter-productive for their own cause).
At this point, the progressive movement needs an Obama 2.0 to come in and help lead people the right way. Clearly this was never going to be Biden, it wasn't Kamala Harris unfortunately. It doesn't necessarily have to be a political leader - but what is clear is that there is a distinct lack of Leadership to help. This is out of control.

What up, fam, it's ya boy, Mattbrain, back from the dead chiming in to say binau, with all this talk of "witch hunting", I swear, you have become the Bill Maher of these forums....I mean at least pick something different other than "Cynthia Erivo bad" and "this is how Trump won"...Jesus.
Excuse me but after what we just went through AGAIN, I have no apologies. Have you seen what has just happened? Do you think this is normal? Really? What more evidence do you need?

The bottom line is Americans associate progressive ideology with far left extremism- such as Critical Race Theory, which is clearly what influenced Kecia Lewis, which basically makes the point using fancy jargon and lingo that white people are all racist all the time , progressive politics are extremely controversial for most (90%) of Americans , for example city council woman Brewer wants free dental for illegals , meanwhile most Americans don’t even have dental benefits . You have to understand what most people think of positions like this . I no longer vote because the Democrat party has drifted into this realm , and I can’t stand Republicans, so I’m politically homeless - I’m liberal not progressive and most Americans are liberal and don’t realize it , even many alleged conservatives hold liberal ideals - not progressive- give me a liberal candidate and I will vote

It's clear you have no idea what Critical Race Theory is. Maybe you should educate yourself and take a course.
The first post of this thread has aged hilariously well perhaps in an unintended comical way. I think we can safely answer now that yes, 35 pages later, it really required its own thread.

I appreciate that however my breakdown is basically what CRT is , it’s an academic and legal framework that denotes that systemic racism is part of American society — from education and housing to employment and healthcare. In other words, everything is racist all the time , this is what Kecia Lewis thinks a sound complain of a Broadway show is racism because she was taught CRT in University. It damages your thought , the same way Nazism or White Supremacy damages the mind. Nazism it’s the “ Jews” , White Supremacy it’s - “everyone is out it to get the white man” lol, CRT, everything is racist against POC all the time. It is all unhealthy and leads to paranoia and worse
