Are we just going to accept that witch hunters can band together and make false claims against someone else because they can't control their emotions and see reality?

As Megyn Kelly says in the video posted above, "they are self destructing. They are all killing each other so I don't care - we win either way".
Each and every one of us has to stand up against this toxic behaviour and culture before it destroys us (including the people doing this who need leadership and need helpas their actions are counter-productive for their own cause).
At this point, the progressive movement needs an Obama 2.0 to come in and help lead people the right way. Clearly this was never going to be Biden, it wasn't Kamala Harris unfortunately. It doesn't necessarily have to be a political leader - but what is clear is that there is a distinct lack of Leadership to help. This is out of control."
The bottom line is Americans associate progressive ideology with far left extremism- such as Critical Race Theory, which is clearly what influenced Kecia Lewis, which basically makes the point using fancy jargon and lingo that white people are all racist all the time , progressive politics are extremely controversial for most (90%) of Americans , for example city council woman Brewer wants free dental for illegals , meanwhile most Americans don’t even have dental benefits . You have to understand what most people think of positions like this . I no longer vote because the Democrat party has drifted into this realm , and I can’t stand Republicans, so I’m politically homeless - I’m liberal not progressive and most Americans are liberal and don’t realize it , even many alleged conservatives hold liberal ideals - not progressive- give me a liberal candidate and I will vote"
It's clear you have no idea what Critical Race Theory is. Maybe you should educate yourself and take a course."
I appreciate that however my breakdown is basically what CRT is , it’s an academic and legal framework that denotes that systemic racism is part of American society— from education and housing to employment and healthcare. In other words, everything is racist all the time , this is what Kecia Lewis thinks a sound complain of a Broadway show is racism because she was taught CRT in University. It damages your thought , the same way Nazism or White Supremacy damages the mind. Nazism it’s the “ Jews” , White Supremacy it’s - “everyone is out it to get the white man” lol, CRT, everything is racist against POC all the time. It is all unhealthy and leads to paranoia and worse"
You are correct that CRT focuses on systematic racism but you got everything else wrong. It absolutely does not say that everything or every white person is racist all the time. Do you believe these systems do not exist? Are you aware of things like redlining? And likening CRT to Nazism or White Supremacy is WILD.

For the love of christ, can we please keep the words Megyn Kelly #professionalc*nt out of anything related to the arts??

This is the silliest take from this whole thread.
Did anyone catch Jon Stewart referencing the Lupone scandal last night on Daily Show? It was a very quick reference and no.. I can't remember what he said but I got a kick out of it. Also.. now that the "open letter" has started being ridiculed, have you noticed how theater tok and social media has not mentioned a word?

I also noticed this! It was in the context of M*sk going on CBS Sunday Morning for his exit interview from the administration, which Stewart clearly thought was an interesting choice of program - he said that they booked the interview because they were buying time until there was an update on LuPone's apology. Definitely was a throwaway joke that clearly got a slightly bigger reaction than he expected.

It’s not silly listen to what Kecia said and you will see all the buzzwords and terminology which originated from CRT- micro aggression and white privilege- these concepts used to be obscure until CRT became a thing actually taught in college - which all occurred shortly after Ibram Xolani Kendi thesis was written - literllly this guy made CRT mainstream and you hear the influence in Kecia’s thought pattern. It’s very simple Kendi believes every word uttered against black is due to racism - therefore Lupone whines about a loud show ( show has black people) Lupone is white and uttering something about something dealing with black people - therefore it’s a racist micro aggression according to professor Kendi . It’s all old news now but it’s important to know where stupid ideas originate from - Kendi damaged a lot of brains with his junk
I was so scared this thread wouldn’t be bumped today.

She’s only holding it while Nicole goes to the ladies room.
I donno, it sure feels like the tides are turning in Audra's favor.

You are so uninformed. The term White Privilege has been around since the 80's and was popularized by Peggy Mcintosh in 1988. From your posts it sounds like you could really benefit from a course in Critical Race Theory because you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.

No, she wasn’t. And while now she might win, there will always be an Asterix as to the reason why she won. Shame. Real shame. I don’t even think she should’ve been nominated. That’s how much I disliked her Rose.

Let's just let Audra live rent free in their minds the way she lives in Patti's
One may have truly disliked her performance, but it was broadly acclaimed and this has been a tossup race between Nicole and Audra for much of the season.

Agreed. I didn't dislike Audra's Rose as much as many, but I really disliked the revival itself. Nothing would ever convince me to see it again or recommend it to anyone. If Audra wins after everything that transpired in the media recently, it would look like she was chosen by voters solely to stick it to Patti and her big mouth. Too bad Nicole's groundbreaking performance will be a collateral in this whole situation.

Or it will look like she was chosen by voters because hers was the better performance but whatever you need to tell yourself.
Has this thread really pivoted to decrying Audra's hypothetical Tony win as undeserved affirmative action? Jfc.

Well, some think Audra's performance was better than Nicole's, some insist that she was miscast as Rose altogether. So, which is it? We will find out on Sunday. It's not over till it's over.

Don't twist words so shamelessly. You are one of the most objective posters here, don't stoop to cheap baiting. No, Audra's win will not be an undeserved affirmative action (nobody is "undeserving" on that nominee list), but it surely will be the testament to Broadway's nasty drama and politics.
