I'm very curious about "Where Do You Belong", "Apex Predator" and "World Burn"

I’m excited for Sexy, World Burn, Meet the Plastics, Apex Predator. All of them really. And maybe we’ll get a new song or two.
Jeff Richmond recently said this to The Hollywood Reporter:
”Right now, the day-to-day is more about the movie adaptation that we’re working on. We’re super involved with that. What we’re trying to do [with the movie] is take the score that sounds like a Broadway score — in a good way — and [give] the movie a fresher palette. To make it sound more like stuff you want to listen to on Spotify, as opposed to when you’re sitting eighth row at a Broadway show or the Pantages. It’s kind of making it a fresher, younger take on the whole thing. We’re kind of reinventing the music for the movie, so it’s really fun.”
So it seems like there will be some adjustments to the score, how major they will be remains to be seen.

Seems Tina Fey and Tim Meadows will be reprising their roles from the original movie. Crossing my fingers Jane Krakowski gets to play Regina's mom.

Jane as the Cool Mom would be PERFECT

Tina Fey and Tim Meadows are the only logical choice really. I'm thrilled they're coming back
I’m surprised Amy isn’t reprising her role as well.

I’ve had it on pretty good authority months ago that Rachel McAdams was going to be Regina’s mom, but it looks like there are salary issues going on, so who knows what will happen.

The casting strategy for this movie has to be pulling names out of a hat. There is no other explanation for some of these choices.
Regarding adjustments to the score –– could the adjustments please include rewriting it from scratch, ideally by Marlow & Moss, or Matt Sklar & Chad B, or Barlow & Bear, or Joe Iconis, or Eddie Perfect??

Yessssss. I wouldn’t be surprised if there are more Girls5Eva cameos in store (I really wish they had cast Sara Bareilles as Ms. Norbury).

I wonder who we'll get for Kevin Gnapoor. Part of me wants Cheech Manohar to reprise the role.

Maybe Sara B can sing something over the credits if Tina Fey wants to call in that favor...

I can only hope.
Also, between the comments from Richmond about the score and the way they’ve cast the adults (Busy Phillips aside), I imagine the musical moments for the parents and teachers will be greatly reduced or quite possibly eliminated, especially since most of the adult roles on stage do minimal singing as is. It makes sense that Mrs. George be someone who can actually sing, since she’s the cool mom who’s copying her teenage daughter.

Ashley Park has been added to the cast of the upcoming Mean Girls movie musical from Paramount Pictures. While her character details are being kept under wraps, ET has confirmed she will have a cameo role in the adaptation after first originating the role of Gretchen Wieners in the Broadway musical.
Park joins a sprawling ensemble cast that includes Angourie Rice, Reneé Rapp, Auli'i Cravalho, Jaquel Spivey, Tina Fey, Tim Meadows, Jenna Fischer, Busy Philipps, Avantika, Christopher Briney and Bebe Wood.
The film directed by Arturo Perez and Samantha Jayne and written by Fey is based on the latter's own musical adaptation of the 2004 hit film, which ran on Broadway from 2018 before permanently closing in 2021 after 833 performances.
Unless they write an original character, my money’s on her being the school administrator who says “The girls have gone wild!”
(Is that line even in the musical? I never got to see it live).

They shift that function to Ms. Norbury. She says that she was stabbed in the leg.

My money is on her being the French teacher on the first day of school as an ode to the Emily in Paris fandom.
I'm super curious on Kevin G. casting. Back when Tina had her little fancast submission thing, I put down Karan Brar from Disney, and he's only 24 so he's near the rest of the cast in age (ie. Christopher Briney is 24, Renee Rapp 23, Auli'i and Anjourie 22). Not sure if he sings/raps though, and I don't know many other MENASA actors in that age range.
