Enough with Macbeth already, One man, Interactive (Sleep No More).
Find another play to bastardize.

So I guess no KING AND I?
This has to be a record for reviving a play in a new production. Just over 3 months.
I would tend to think that Macbeth will be a limited engagement. LCT has it's schedule running through just after New Year's(through Jan. 12). King & I can still come in in March.
Except ACT ONE is playing the Beaumont starting 3/20.
Act One is the spring show for the Beaumont.
No King and I this season.
Seriously? The KING & I is one of my all time favorite shows, I need a revival ASAP, so disappointed it's not happening this season yet again. Is LCT still committed to it or are they over it?
Anyway, MACBETH notwithstanding, it sounds like an exciting season. It's great Laurie Metcalf keeps doing plays in NY on a constant basis.
I love Macbeth and am not about to turn down any chance to see my favorite play performed. Very interested in whether they'll want a name for Lady Macbeth. Michelle Dockery maybe?

Do they usually announce more shows? I can't tell if this is a light season or if I'm making that up. I'm disappointed in the announcement because I can't think of a Shakespeare play I'm less interested in seeing revived right now than Macbeth. Even ignoring the current one man version, it has only been five years since a full production on Broadway. Give me Othello or Much Ado about Nothing.
I'll very happily see Domesticated. Act One could be a delight, true. The City of Conversation will have to get brilliant word of mouth given a personal lack of interest in theater about politics. It just seems like such an uninspired collection of shows, at least on paper.

Oh. Okay, I like O'Hara but I can't get excited by her, I was hoping Laura Benanti had a chance and was anxiously waiting for her to do it. Oh well.
Sauja, my first thought when I read that Hawke would be doing MACBETH was that they should have done Othello with him as Iago instead. I just don't see why they'd revive MACBETH so soon, especially since I don't think Hawke is so right for the part that they just had to mount it. It's not like the Patti LuPone GYPSY or the Liev Schreiber-led A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE. I'm still crossing my fingers they'll cast Viola Davis (who has <0.5% chance of being cast I'm sure), just please no boring actresses like Lily Rabe or the likes. Laura Linney would be wonderful.
I've decided I'm holding out for Mariah Gale to finally cross the pond and play it.
I'll never miss anything Laurie Metcalf is in so I'm totally there.

Is it a safe bet that Domesticated will run past New Year's? I probably won't be in NYC till the first week of January.
^ It's currently scheduled to run until January 5th.

LCT produces shows in non-LCT houses. THE KING & I could still come in.

Thank you, frogs! That makes me happy. I actually searched the LCT site before posting my question, but could not find the schedule.
True. Who would have expect LCT to have Anne, Vanya (I know they aren't producers, but still), and The Nance all running at the same time.
Patrick Stewart, Alan Cumming....Ethan Hawke? At least it's not Kelsey again.
Ugh, I really wish they would go forward with The King and I without Kelli...there are several other actresses I would much rather see in the part, Kate Baldwin being at the top of that list.
I would, however, love to see Viola Davis as Lady Macbeth. That would be inspired casting.

it doesnt matter what you want to see, its what bart sher wants to see, and he wants to see Kelli in the part, and her getting pregnant has knocked it out of contention for this season.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but, due to a rule stating there must be at least 5 years between revivals, this Macbeth will NOT be eligible for the 2014 Tony Awards.
