In the Mamma Mia movie, it's very unlikely that Meryl Streep (5'6") and any of the possible dads (all 6'2" or taller) would have produced a daughter as petite as Amanda Seyfried. However, I heard no protests about casting such a short actress.

I think of color-blind casting more for situations like the recent STREETCAR revival. Or like ROMEO & JULIET. But it always irks me when families don't look anything like families.

I'm white and my wife is Latina. If my kid looks as lily white as me, I'll be very surprised. It's 10th grade biology folks: dominant genes and probability.
That said, I've been on this board for ten years and have had enough with the colorblind casting debates. Forgive me for trying to have a little fun.
