Wasn't this a planned absence?
It's probably just a coincidence, broadwayboy.
Would anyone mind putting a live Webcam down there for our entertainment?

Well, that's annoying.
I think people WERE rushing that early to see the understudy, since the absence was planned and it sold out the show.
If it hadn't been sold out I doubt it would have been that intense.

They are making the [tos]ser and rentheads (can't believe I just wrote those two words *cringe*) look like nothing.
Wow- that's ridiculous. I was planning on trying to see it a 2nd time next weekend, but I think I'll save myself an entire night on the cement and just spend the extra $60. :P
Wasn't this announced WEEKS ago that she was going on?
Unofficially, I believe.

I'm pretty sure 4pm is incorrect. I walked by the theater at like 9pm last night and there was no one around. But 11pm wouldn't surprise me at all.

im not sure i understand why its "reasonable" to stay up all night to see Patti's last show in gypsy but its somehow not as reasonable to do the same for a random u/s in n2n.
both involve extremely devoted, probably unhealthy, behavior. patti's stardom doesnt make one any more normal than the other.
And you call yourself an American, sir???
CELEBRITY = EVERYTHING
Fail. You dirty commie, you.
I said "KIND OF" understood the Patti situation. I will never camp out for anything, I don't sleep on streets.

right, and sleeping on the street to see either is somewhat abnormal behavior. i find it very VERY humorous that people here (not necessarily ljay, sorry!) are willing to look down their noses at the people lying on pavement to see an u/s in next to normal, from their own encampment a few blocks away waiting to see patti lupone ONE.MORE.TIME!
Again...

Ljay- I agree. I think they need to change it to a LOTTO. Its becoming out of control and almost impossible to get rush tickets if your not there by 5 AM.

"I'll be there tonight. I did not rush, though. I'll be in orchestra row J."
Wow it surprises me that you didn't pay your friend to rush for you like you do all the other times!
What on Earth are you talking about, Val? I've never payed anyone to rush any show for me, EVER. So you're off base, YET AGAIN.

Val's paranoia. Isn't it fun?
You are just insane Val. (Who would be one of the one's out there 12+ hours early)
DefyGravity, Whats your obsession with adamgreer? It seems like every time he says something, you have to make a comment or remark. Doesn't it get old?
For what it is worth, there is a group of altarholics who rush this show and who seem to enjoy a good overnight outside a theater.
Having never seen that show I didn't know their fanbase was so devoted but a fair amount of them seem to be hardcore rushing this show for Kyle Dean Massey.
I wonder if Miss Congeniality was one of the overnight rushers?!?!?!?!??!?!
She wasn't there at all today.
Shocker.
I'm sorry, but I still can't get over the fact that people waited for well over twelve hours for these tickets.
I'm literally laughing out loud imagining how the rush will be for the closing night performance (whenever that may be).
