I was just about to post this! I'm so happy to hear she's back. I thought it would be longer. I hope to see her this Sunday, as long as she is okay and isn't straining herself too much.
welcome back to her. so sweet she will be there for annaleighs last day. i think annaleigh is the only galina who had loads of stage time with one understudy alot and the standby for eplhie and the full time sjb. i def want to see video now of their last show together. awwwww.....6 more performances together. thanks for the updatw withoutatrace and also adamgreer for calling you.
If Steph J Block can't perform on her last night, I'm sure she'll at least come out of the trap door in the final scene. It just has to happen. I would put the red track suit in her dressing room now, just in case.
She was indeed back in the show this evening. As I told WAT, she was quite visibly limping. I was in the first row (partial view, not lotto), however, so perhaps farther back people could not tell.
I won't comment on her performance, because I've never really enjoyed it, to be perfectly frank. Nothing personal, she's just not my favorite. I went hoping to see Lisa tonight. All I'll say is this, her performance hasn't changed, so if you liked her before, you'll like her now. If not, you still won't.
As for the rest of the show...count me among those who dislike Analeigh's spastic, bizarre performance. There was no arc to her character whatsoever.
I did enjoy David Burnham a great deal. I didn't find him to be too feminine (a complaint I've read from numerous posters) at all. He was far less feminine than Derrick Williams and David Ayers were, that's for sure.
She'll be in for Annaleigh's final performance on Sunday afternoon...but not the Wednesday or Saturday matinees this week...and she'll be away next week (although not for health reasons). Didn't see her return last night but people said it was quite spectacular with terrific response at the end.
Visibly limping can't be a good thing. I hope she's not pushing herself too hard, too soon!
Can someone explain how vacations work in theater? Is there some sort of Equity rule requiring/allowing an actor to take time off after a certain amount of time in a show? How does medical leave play into that time, etc?? <--- honest question, I'm curious!
From what I've seen on the boards -it appears to be a one week vacation every six months. not including medical absences and I think there's only a certain number of days that the actor is allowed to miss with pay - which makes me wonder if the poor girl in all her pain hasn't been getting pay this past month?
