Has it been mentioned that Freddy is being played by a non Caucasian actor? And Sher is usually accused of not doing any non-traditional casting.

I hope he’s also one of the two guys who sing “Little Bit of Luck” with Doolittle! It would make sense for Egan and Adam Gruper (who was also Burstein’s Tevye understudy) to cover Doolittle/Pickering.

Not only that but when it comes to Bartlett Sher's musical productions, My Fair Lady has the second largest cast he's ever had with 37 people. His biggest ensemble is the 40+ people he had in The King and I.

But yeah, this is one dang great ensemble cast. :)

That would be exciting. But if it doesn't pan out, try seeing the night after opening.By then the review pressure is over and the cast tends to just let go and enjoy the show.

Jordan Donica made is Broadway debut as Raoul in Phantom of the Opera sometime in 2016 and his voice is so soothing and rich that when he was announced to play Freddy in My Fair Lady my heart leaped out in joy. He's going to make a wonderful Freddy.

Yeah, I thought Donica was sort of wasted in the role of Raoul. He was great, but that character's such a bonehead. I'm excited to see him in something else.

He was a very solid Lafayette/Jefferson on the National Tour of Hamilton. He is also approximately 8 billion feet tall.

Jordan Donica was a major standout for me in Hamilton. He was obviously having a lot of fun on that stage.

I'm also glad that they found a way to get a POC into the principal cast. Obviously Edwardian England was pretty short on rich black people, but it is a musical, and a very white one at that, so I'm glad they are able to make it diverse without changing the story. However, I'm not sure why Playbill is running the announcement using a photo of the guy playing the tiny role of Zoltan Karpathy instead of Jordan Donica as Freddy.

Also, in future productions, Pickering could very much be played as Indian, given the historical context.

Is there a reason there are so few price bands for tickets? Seems to jump from $99 to $150 to $180?

The main reason there are fewer price points for a theater like the Beaumont is because there is a higher ratio of great seats. In a normal Broadway house, there’s the issue of how far away or high up you are, which are big deterrents from purchasing those seats. The reason why tickets are generally expensive is because this is going to be a huge hit, at least for a year. They can command the price, so they do.

If you’re coming in to see it on a trip, maybe wait until the date gets closer and a discount could be floating around by then. Or chance it and try to get a ticket at TKTS. My guess is that there won’t be any significant discounts until at least 6/7 months in.

Is there a huge difference in view between row A and row E of the Loge (side sections)?

There is availability the evening before in row E, so I'm torn between going on my actual Birthday and splashing out for Row A, or saving $50 each and going the night before slightly further back.

I'm looking at the end of May so by the sounds of it there are unlikely to be discounts this early in the run.

Not a big difference between the front and back of the Loge, if I recall — it’s pretty shallow. Unless it’s a question of side Loge vs Center (Center has a better view).

If you’re going to splurge for a front Loge seat, the Orchestra section probably isn’t much more $.

Being an LCT member for 30+ years and having sat in most sections of the Beaumont, I can assure you that the difference in the stage perspective in the center section is completely different than the two side wings.  The problem s that they charge the same for most of the orchestra seats, though I think they have added Premium seats for this show.  In my opinion the two side sections (of the five sections in the theater) are NOT good seats and should be avoided if possible

I've always liked the intimacy look the Vivian Beaumont always had.
