Mary Poppins should have won Best Picture over My Fair Lady
It's not a remake they say, it's a sequel they say. Uh-huh.
Visually, yes it would look like a remake. But story wise it isn't, if you look deeper into the details.

It looks beautiful. And it should. It's 2018. They have technology now that they can do almost anything in cinema.
For me though, as a former Disney Cast Member and Disney fan, there will only be one Mary Poppins. It is such an iconic role that I will never be able to suspend enough disbelief to see someone else take on the role.
Is this lady a good actress? I'm sure she is. But it's more to that with this role. There are a lot of good actresses. But there is only one who has made this role special. And it's one that I don't think should have been messed with. Not really interested.

Or countless English and Australian actors playing Americans thus taking roles away from American actors.
Cate Blanchett, Nicole Kidman, Vivien Leigh, Naomi Watts, literally the entire cast of the TV series NASHVILLE, etc.

Zoom!! right across your head.
According to Amazon the soundtrack will be released on December 7th, but there is no track list for the songs and score yet.

Went to see A Star is Born this weekend and caught this trailer for the first time and actually shed a tear. Cannot wait to see this. Let’s start talking about our predictions for Rob Marshall winning the best director oscar.
He ain’t coming close to that Oscar.
Here's a 1 minute "special look" at the movie. BTW the song "Can You Imagine That?" sounds really good here.

That Oscar is Bradley Cooper’s to lose.
So there have been screenings last week with both SAG or Academy members and the Twitter responses have been nothing but positives to flat out RAVES. They're calling this film a pure, magical joy ride with wonderful performances (with the most praise going to Emily Blunt), great songs, and being called "the movie the world needs right now". Some who are Oscar insiders are now predicting that the film has a strong chance of getting nominations for Best Picture and Best Director, calling it Rob Marshall's best film of his career.
December is getting closer and I'm getting more and more excited for it!
