Jeremy's getting married in September in Ashley's hometown, based on an interview he did recently, so he'll be out then. But no confirmed dates, though.
You know, I believe JP will eventually switch to being a swing so that Julian can take over Alex's track, but Julian may be the new swing and JP could stay in Alex's track. All I know is when Julian joins the cast, one will swing and one will be Sniper/Scab.
they list him as an alternate, not a standby, on playbill.com. So are the having him do one or two performances a week??
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
Ummmmm, I'm pretty sure LaVon never went on during Lysistrata Jones. She was Liz Mikel's understudy, and I'm pretty sure that Mikel never missed a performance. I could be wrong though.
First off, I really must correct a small but significant typo from earlier.
It previously read: I'm a dancer, but he and Ryan Steele have such beautiful form and their pirouettes look like a "how-to," just perfect.
Well, I'm NOT a dancer. Read: not. at all. ever. never taken a dance lesson in my life. I just admire dance and dancers and for the most part I think I do a pretty decent job of spotting the good ones :)
Anyway, I'm sad that Capathia is leaving but I have to say that LaVon is amazing! I saw her about 6 years ago in Baltimore's Centerstage's production of "Once on This Island" and her vocals are wonderful. She'll be a great replacement.
an unconfirmed rumor on All That Chat a few days ago speculated that Ron Raines would be temporarily stepping in for John Dossett when Dossett takes a leave of absence to do GIANT.
"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe."
-John Guare, Landscape of the Body
I think Ron Raines would make an excellent Pulitzer.
I hate to think of Sykes not being there. He really is excellent. It just goes to show how much every member of the company is making such a strong contribution!
Ephraim and Lewis are probably leaving before the end of the week since they tweeted their last SIPS. Didn't hear about Dossett leaving temporarily. Where did everyone hear that?
Side note - Corey starts to night as full time lead!
See, it's funny because I loved Ephraim in Memphis and Rent but thought he got kind of lost in the ensemble in Newsies. He's a great dancer, but because he wasn't featured as much as the other Newsies, say Ryan Steele, the audience didn't know what he was capable of. Still delivered all of the choreography with more than precision. Just IMO.
First Broadway show? Ephraim has three or four credits on Broadway, was a lead off Broadway in Rent, and has been featured in a few dance movies. Not to mention he's an Alvin Ailey graduate. He probably has something lined up next or else he would stay. Alex Wong also had other engagements in LA for SYTYCD, ballet, etc, so it wasn't like he was leaving to go sit at home.
