Next to Normal Pink 2027

So this has been popping up all over my socials. I’m guessing nothing more than a fan boy getting excited.

Why? She can sing that score in her sleep. We don't actually know if she can act.

Exactly!!! She would probably be good in "Chicago" which is what she did on Tony Awards show.

Yeah what a silly thing to say lol. The London production is very clearly dead and not coming to Broadway (and would have struggled financially with no names except Jack Wolfe…sorry Caissie is not a name as great as she is), yall really to let it go.

Count me among those that think Pink taking a big swing with a serious acting/vocal role rather than being relegated to C-list status as Velma in Chicago would be very exciting and who knows, she may knock it out of the park if it is indeed happening.

P!nk actually does have some acting experience. She was in a film called "Thanks for Sharing" about a support group for sex addicts. I watched it once years ago, but I remember liking the film a lot and finding her performance to be quite strong. It's an ensemble piece with lots of stars, and her storyline had her primarily acting opposite Josh Gad! She also appeared in a horror B-movie called "Catacombs", voiced a character in "Happy Feet 2", and has had some cameos in some other films.

Obviously, her resume is still light, especially for a role as demanding as Diana, but she's not entirely inexperienced with acting. Plus, she's always been an especially emotive singer, which may work to her advantage since next to normal is almost entirely sung-through. If this rumor actually happens, I'm cautiously optimistic that she can handle the role. My bigger concern would be that her daughter (who is TRULY inexperienced) could handle Natalie.

I’d actually rather see Pink in a serious singing role. Whatever she decides, I think she’ll do well and I’ll be there.

I’m cautiously intrigued. Pink absolutely has the vocals and emotional intensity for Diana. The acting is the real question, but if this rumor is actually true, I’d definitely buy a ticket.
