Jesus. This is why we can't have nice things. People were looking forward to this Hamilton film forever and now that it's here and it's awesome people just have to find a reason to be outraged.

Pot, meet kettle.
"99.999999999999999999999% of people are going to describe this film as featuring the Original Broadway Cast of the show"
That's a non-sequitur whether true or not. Many hours are spent negotiating credits, not a millisecond of which is for the benefit of the 99.99...%.
"and they'll be accurate in doing so regardless of a pedantic decision not to tout that fact in its marketing and/or the opinion of an original understudy."
Again, you are wrong. Doubly so in this one sentence.
You can continue to embarrass yourself here if that's your thing.

I did! I adore Thayne and Jon and my eye always finds them and focuses on them. Yeah, it's mainly because I think they are both very attractive, but Thayne especially has nice moves. I also like seeing Carleigh, easy to spot with her long straight black hair.
Groff's and LMM's bromance is well documented on YouTube and social media, so I'm sure LMM always had every intention to have him back for the filming.
But to your point, the absence of Betsy and Emmy didn't seem to hurt Disney+. New subscriptions and downloading of the app were threw the roof.
Promoting the recording as the “Original Broadway Cast“, when it clearly isn’t as two members of the cast has left, is false advertising by definition and open’s Disney up to petty lawsuits from overzealous lawyers. Saying the Original Broadway Principal Cast seems a bit wordy for a marketing campaign, as such Original Broadway Production was settled on. This isn’t a moral purity test of “its what most people will think anyway so why should we correct them issue“, its a Disney spent $75 million dollars on the rights to the recording and doesn’t want to have to deal with false advertising lawsuit. Saying Original Broadway Cast would not fall into the puffery category of false advertising because people clearly can’t tell that this is an exaggeration. Thus let me once again state the marketing changing from Original Broadway Cast, to Original Broadway Production, has nothing to do with being pedantic, but instead avoiding the possibility of a lawsuit for false advertising. If anything I wouldn’t even blame Betsy Stuxness if they continued with that marketing campaign and she sued for millions as its a slam dunk case to win in court. She likely wouldn’t have and instead it would of been a random lawyer who wanted to make a name for themself, but still Disney would be held liable.
Disney themselves can’t call it the Original Cast in any official marketing materials without facing the possibility of a lawsuit, but if you see any of the press the cast is doing they are not correcting interviewers if they mention it being a recording of the original cast. As such Disney is still subliminally getting the recording being made up of the original cast without facing the possibility of being held liable for false advertising.
So now if a single ensemble/chorus member from a show isn't able to make it to a cast recording session, the album can't be called an "Original Cast Recording" for fear of lawsuits?
I think there is a lot of misapprehension about this even when it is not mired in inaccuracy. This is not about Disney being worried about lawsuits. This is about LMM realizing what he (and Disney) had done that was wrong, and taking the simple step of rectifying the unintended slight. The nonsense about cast recordings is just typical hyperbolic silliness, something that is now common around here. Sometimes, things are just about being a good human.
My cast recording mention was definitely complete silliness, in reference too the ridiculous scare-mongering about Disney getting sued over misrepresentation.

Jesus... Can you people really just not read? Where did she say she had beef? She lines it out incredibly clearly in her explanation. She was burned out and the monotony of a frozen show was getting to her. So she left. Nothing to do with the show itself or the people involved. She supported the filming, posted pictures from the show. The only thing she took umbrage with was billing it as the OBC which in Hamilton's case is sensible considering how much Lin put on all of them as instrumental to the show's soul and why all of them get royalties from it. If all of those people were not present for the filming, it's not right to bill it as such. Lin and the producers are the ones who put the importance of the OBC on Hamilton's shoulders and there was an obligation to do right by all of them.
