Oh no! So sorry to hear about that. I know you’ll be reimbursed, but that just ruins your night Hope you get a chance to see it soon. Any details you could share so we can be on the lookout (I know scammers charge tactics often).

This happened to me tonight as well. StubHub gave me a full refund as well as a $50 voucher. I think the red flag is buying Pretty Woman tickets that will be sent as a mobile ticket. Not that mobile tickets can't be a thing like with Frozen, but I think it's unusual for this show.

They popped up at the last minute (like 7:20) and they were in the right orchestra row E for $87...and then they quickly dropped to $57 and then $47. 3-4 single tickets. I've been using StubHub forever and obviously knew the risks but have never once had a bad experience so I didn't think anything of it and snagged one. When I arrived, someone was in the seat I purchased, their ticket had the right date and seat and everything. Box office compared the two and looked up the account mine was purchased on and said it was fraudulent.
Luckily I live in nyc and I've seen the show before (and I'm sure I'll be back soon) so it's not the worst thing that could've happened, but definitely still a bummer and an annoyance.

Ugh, that sounds awful! I'm surprised that a forged ticket would let you get as far as getting into the theater (especially since tickets are scanned these days, you would think that would be harder to fake). But how frustrating and annoying all around!!

With my ticket, they did stop me from entering and it scanned as "refund". Maybe someone bought real tickets took screen shots of their tickets on Ticketmaster, uploaded that on StubHub and then got the tickets refunded, so the tickets being sold on StubHub were real but no longer valid.

Oh I didn't get a voucher, just a refund, but beggars can't be choosers I guess lol

Out of three pretty dreadful options, I'd rank it second behind the inane Head Over Heels but sliiiiiiightly ahead of the noxious Gettin the Band Back Together. This season is off to a ROUGH start. I hope it gets better, but there's not a ton I'm particularly enthusiastic about. I find myself keeping fingers tightly crossed that The Prom ends up being a charmer. And that other musicals start announcing that they're coming in this year!
I found Barks' performance to be very like that of Vanessa Hudgens in Gigi - artificial, faux-spunky, Orphan Annie-ish, and with less sexuality than Pippi Longstocking. But she does have a strong, loud voice.
I may be the only person who hasn’t seen the film, but I just found this so... boring? Andy Karl is always wonderful but what a cold fish character, no warmth at all. Samantha Barks saves it from being a total failure, at least. And Tommy Bracco’s featured role is a delight, if reminiscent of the Dolly waiters. Eh.

I think they have a hit on their hands, because their audience for the past week (sold-out, I believe) has been entirely NON-theatre people. That's quite a feat.
Just saw The Today Show number. Anyone else have the reaction that it seemed like "Take It Like A Man" from Legally Blonde, only with worse music and less drama? They're basically just celebrating that he's buying her stuff. What am I missing?

I mean it's an iconic moment in the movie. and also the start of her transformation where she actually starts to feel different for the first time, as well as when he starts to realize he actually has real feelings for her.
I also get Take It Like A Man vibes but honestly that song never did it for me and I actually like this better, but to each their own.

For what it's worth, I wish the book writers had ended Act I with Edward apologizing to Vivian for his remarks to Stuckey, as it's a moment of tension and change for both characters. Unfortunately there's not a ton of story after that point. That being said, I think "You're Beautiful" is fun.
Perhaps because of so-so expectations, I found much of the show fairly entertaining, cliches and all—probably because of the ingratiating performances by Barks, Karl, Orfeh and scene-stealer extraordinaire Eric Anderson. Worth the $42 rush price, at any rate. It may be derivative, but I enjoyed much of the score, which seemed part soft rock, pop and country-rock. The theater was filled. I have a feeling this will be a big hit, especially with tourists.
I couldn't even make it through that Today show performance. So boring and bland. Everyone just seemed to being play the surface. I hate that "belting" has now become equal to "good." Ugh.
Maybe it's all better in context, but I don't know, not rushing out to get a ticket.
The problem with singer/songwriters writing a whole show is they don't know how to compose an actual music theater song - save "Waitress."

I love the score for Billy Elliot as well as most of Aida. Everybody's Talking About Jamie is a pretty solid score as well. Kinky Boots and Matilda did very well and most seem to love one or the other or both (I think Matilda is far stronger, but I do think the score is the best part of Kinky Boots).
