I do want to give them credit for their PR/marketing blitz. It’s effective and a lot more than what most other shows are doing.
That music video did nothing to sell me on this Gatsby. Looked very cheap and unprofessional. The song was....fine.
A tad generic for sure, but I really like the orchestrations and the vocals are just sublime.
The PR/marketing blitz is really coming from Katharine Quinn. She says that every Broadway show is basically a media company until performances, so she really believes in doing a lot of marketing to gin up excitement BEFORE the show is actually on Broadway. She did this with Shucked as well. What she’s been trying has been working. You can follow her videos on YouTube, insta, and tik tok. I love her stuff.

If I turn off my brain and forget everything I know about The Great Gatsby, that music video would sell me on the show.

Just an FYI - the box office opening event line is down and around the block right now.
Great to hear they'll have a 19-piece orchestra (the full Broadway Theatre minimum)

Very glad to hear they will have a 19 piece orchestra very nice. Paper mill is announcing their next season on Monday very exciting!

Was it the same at Papermill, or have they expanded the orchestrations for the broadway transfer?

When I saw it, it sounded like a smaller orchestra but I am not entirely sure.
On another note, I saw that the set designer is planning on having the orchestra on stage in one of the scenes, which is a BIG change from Paper Mill. Wonder what else will be different in this production!
Oooh, like when the MFL orchestra was on stage for the waltz?

So how is this doing? I’ll be in NYC in march, but got a feeling this won’t last that long.
I noticed a post from The Pantages on Facebook highlighting this show and how great it would look in their theater…I know there’s a lot of projections, but would any set pieces or staging need to be changed in order to tour?
