Alice defiantly has the win I think but I'm really hoping for J. Robert Spencer. He plays Dan with such emotion and really gets into the character. I hope they make it out on top, especially with best Musical.
I'm on my way to NYC from MD and bought tix for tonight's show- I was hoping to past-date because my bus was late and I missed the show in March- haha, am I nuts for spending another $140 because I'm dying to see this show!
Rush wasn't too crowded, but it definitely wasn't empty either. I got there around 9, and I was 9th in line. By 10 there were at least another half dozen people behind me. I'm in AA 109 and 110.
I think it's got a shot at lighting too. The lighting is STUNNING (especially from the mezz) and adds so much to the overall feel of the scenes. Remember it's backlit too ~ not just the different color light bulbs in the primary set.

LIVE THAT LESSON!!!!!!
EEP about the 11 Tony nominations!!! That is HUGE! Not too happy about Aaron being snubbed, like, at all (the only reason I'm not more angry about it is because Will Swenson is there, and he's equally as brilliant as Aaron, so.. that makes it easier to take haha).. but other than that, really really amazing!!
Now if only it can win Best Musical, that would make me the happiest person everrr
(obviously I'm rooting for WHATEVER it can win haha, but it's just Best Musical would actually the amount of time it is able to run for!)
I don't need a life that's normal. That's way too far away. But something next to normal would be okay. Something next to normal is what I'd like to try. Close enough to normal to get by.
I kind of glimpsed over the list and just assumed. Boo.

I just saw it tonight! It was truly stunning. I saw Kate Shindle and Brian Stokes Mitchell there. I met most of the cast (Aaron didn't come out... or hadn't yet after like 45 minutes) and they were all so kind and gracious. Still high from the show... wow... breathtaking.
I was there tonight as well, and it was AMAZING. My fourth time at the show, and I'd say the second-best to first preview.
I didn't see Kate Shindle there!! I did see Brian Stokes Mitchell, though, as well as Brian Yorkey (who was an extremely nice guy and signed my playbill), Jonathan B. Wright, and (I believe... correct me if I'm wrong) Ariana Grande.
What an incredible show! The house was PACKED tonight...I've never seen it this full since opening night. Energy was off the wall, both from the audience and the cast.
It was an absolutely phenomenal show this evening, and the audience loved it.
Margaret, my favorite usher in the entire universe, was even more cheerful than she normally is tonight. She was smiling away, telling everyone she say, "You're gonna see a great show tonight! We got 11 nominations!"
I did something I don't ever do and went to the stage door to congratulate them on their nominations. They were all very pleasant and thrilled, particularly Alice, who started engaging my friend and I in a lengthy conversation about the various types of points and colors on a Sharpie marker. Aside from the VERY rude stage door man, it was a pleasant experience.
I didn't see Brian Stokes Mitchell, where was he sitting? I was in Row B of the orchestra. I did see the radiant Kate Shindle (does she get any more gorgeous?) and Jonathan B. Wright, though. David Stone and Brian Yorkey were also there.
