Hey, I know this has been asked before but I forgot and now I can't find the thread so here goes. How does the Phantom vanish at the end of POTO?

Thanks

Danmit! When I read the subject I thought maybe Phantom was disappearing off of Broadway, but no such luck (sorry Phantom fans).

me too...darn...we can hope can't we. I can't believe this show has run so long. It's a snoozer.

Actually there was something in the paper recently about it still doing pretty well, but it must be the discounts and the tourists. Also, I'm thinking that the producers are going to do all they can to keep it running so it takes the crown as the longest running musical.

Again, I don't understand why...

It's looking like it will make it to the longest running musical...I think it only has to make it to January. I'm not a huge fan of the show, but I'd rather see this on the top of the list than cats.

Did Les Miz and Cast go out "on top." Or did they wait and fizzle out? I wonder if Phantom will just close sometime next year while its still doing good, rather than waiting for attendence to drop to 60%? They've already made a huge profit.

Les Miz didn't make it to the top, which is really depressing to me. I really think it is so much higher quality than Phantom and especially Cats.

I must say that you all seriously suck at staying on topic, lol.....I love Phantom of the Opera and would really appreciate it if some of you would take that into consideration. Those of you knew what this thread was about from the moment you read the first post, making all of these remarks inconsiderate and pointless. We all have our own opinion, but please stay on topic or don't negatively comment at all.

Thanks!

Whoever is going, it's been running 95,99, to 100+% all through June and July. I think it's a shoe-in to be around to whenever in January it breaks the record---and probably longer.

I can't imagine Phantom closing anytime soon. Plus it's recapped it's investment, so even if attendance falls it isn't as big a deal cause it just has to cover production costs at this point. ANd I think teh show is great, and a definite staple on Broadway, and it desrves to remain there.

i, too, wish Phantom would disappear...

as for how he does...it's actually simple. He goes through a door in the chair.

What a waste of theatre space...

"Do you know what pledge time is, Andrew"? said the PBS Executive. "Yes", Lloyd Webber replied. "My 50th birthday special must be one program that gets done a lot." "No", mused the man from PBS heedlessy. "Not so much. Our Stephen Sondheim Carnegie Hall concert. That's a big one." Spoons, forks and knives seemed suddenly to suspend their motion in horror, all around the table.
