Has there been any more news on this? I remember it being announced a few months ago but I have heard nothing else about it. Has a cast been announced yet?
I was actually semi-wondering the same thing....

Does anyone know when the casting will be announced? I thought I remember them saying casting would be announced shortly and that was a few months ago.

::SOOOO disapointed!!!::
I thought I was going to open this up and it would say "Raul Esparza to star in Pippin benefit concert" oh well, wishful thinking on my part...
J Tartaglia would be an AMAZING PIPPIN!!!!! "Purpose" is so "Corner of the Sky"-he even looks the part!

Oh my GOD!!! Thank you BWB88. I seriously remember reading that article on Playbill.com MONTHS ago, and getting SO excited for it and thinking "OK, I'm NOT going to miss this one!" ......and then it disappeared. I was thinking about it the other day and wondering if I hadn't notice that the date of the article was really old or something. I'm thinking, maybe it would be the 2005 Actor's Fund concert? That would be cool. And I wouldn't hate more JTags, he's excellent.
So we can always hope that Seth with pick it up.

Great minds...!
Last time I talked to Seth about the Actor's Fund concert, he honestly had no idea what he wanted to do next year. If I get a chance to talk to him tomorrow, I'll try and remember to ask him if he knows anything.
For me, the one and only Pippin will always be John Rubenstein. I saw him in the original cast--he captured the required innocence needed for the part PERFECTLY.
Regarding show, not one of my favorites, although Bob Fosse had some very creative ideas and Ben Vereen is always a pleasure to watch.
What a shame that Irene Ryan passed away while in show. . .
Mary and Ethel who?

I wish I would have been able to see John Rubenstein in it. I love his voice on the recording.
Do you know who toured as PIPPIN?
"Greg Brady" (Barry Williams) from THE BRADY BUNCH!
Why, Mary MARTIN and Ethel MERMAN, silly!
Phew, you past my test. I love that line in "Bells Are Ringing."
Glebb,
Of course, you're referring to "Drop That Name," which also refers to:
Mary Pickford and Ethel Barrymore
For all the marbles, please tell me the LAST NAMES of Ella's friends named Mary and Ethel.
Easy (except the spelling) - Shwartz and Hodgkiss.
Love that OBC recording.
