9 to 5 has one of the most interesting sets I have seen. Please nominate it for and award... and WIN!

Either Caissie Levy or Allison Case will be nominated for Best Featured Actress as this year's "WTF" nomination.

I didn't even remember who Aziza was in PASSING STRANGE. Eisa Davis, on the other hand, was much more deserving of a nomination. I thought she gave the best performance in PASSING.

And Pirag, I could totally see Caissie Levy getting a nomination.

re: Please nominate __________, Nominating Committee!

I liked Cassie Levy in HAIR but I didn't think the women in HAIR should be singled out for a nod (though Megan Lawrence made the biggest impression for me), IMO Karen Olivo's take on Sheila stood out more. The featured actress category is always quite crowded and a deserving performance or two always get left out, we'll see whose turn it is this time. This year's biggest contenders: Cassie Levy, Kathy Fitzgerald, Allison Case, Jennifer Damiano, Karen Olivo, Haydn Gwynne, Martha Plimptom, Susan Blackwell, Heidi Blickenstaff...that's a lot of deserving performances.

re: Please nominate __________, Nominating Committee!

Did you mean Caryn Lyn Manuel, ray?

And I guess I'm in the minority in thinking that Plimpton didn't give a great performance. Sure, it was the best of the crop but Risch and Channing weren't exactly giving stellar performances.

I'd rather see Blackwell, Blickenstaff, Case, or Levy take her place. All four were better than Plimpton IMO.

re: Please nominate __________, Nominating Committee!

WickedRocks, Karen Olivo played Sheila in concert at the Public the year before Caren Lyn Manuel did it in the park. Olivo was just about set to reprise the role in the current revival but then she was asked to audition for Laurents and the rest is history.
I didn't see Plimptom, she's just such a beloved actress in the community and it seems that most people were impressed by her performance. I definitely count on her getting a nod (unless the committee really hated the show and decide to snub it altogether). Either way, I think Olivo and Gwynne are a sure bet, anyone from the names I mentioned earlier who takes those three other spots is deserving in my eyes.

Susan Blackwell for Best Featured Actress
I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

re: Please nominate __________, Nominating Committee!

After seeing Hair again... I would not mind at all if Bryce Ryness were nominated. It's a long shot and he probably won't due to Will Swenson's all-but-assured nomination, but still. He gives a great performance.

re: Please nominate __________, Nominating Committee!

That reminds me:

Richard Griffiths, EQUUS.

Radcliffe was fine but Griffiths was the heart and soul (of the otherwise lifeless show) for me.

I just really want Jennifer Damiano to get a nod for Best Supporting Actress in a Musical. I think her performance as Natalie is just brilliant.
