I'm not a big Band's Visit fan, but out of Mean Girls, Spongebob, and Frozen, I know that The Band's Visit is DEFINITELY going to win Best Musical. Unless someone pulls an Avenue Q...
Otherwise, I have to say that this was a sucky season. ONLY 7 NEW MUSICALS AND 3 REVIVALS?? THERE WERE A WHOLE LOT LAST YEAR!

For sure, but honestly if it doesn't (which it will) I think I preferred Spongebob just slightly over Mean Girls and that is coming from a MASSIVE fan of MG the film.
This season was definitely a play season. While most of the musicals leave a lot to be desired, the plays are just fantastic all around with very few exceptions.

Nomination, yes. Win, no."
Remember all the voters who have stakes in a show touring. Best musical bands visit may sell 1 or two tickets to a family and hard sell across the country. Spongebob automatically sells a family with kids tickets. No one can say anythings a lock at this point.

If you're doing the touring argument, then you just proved my point. SpongeBob automatically sells, so why would voters feel compelled to help add "Tony-winning Best Musical" to its marketing/advertising across the country? Moreover, SpongeBob hasn't even planned a tour yet, where The Band's Visit already has several dates/cities announced.
So, sorry, but The Band's Visit is very much a "lock" for Best Musical.

Whilst The Band's Visit is VERY likely to take home Best Musical. anything can happen (in the woods).

But then you could bring up the argument that SpongeBob isn’t even selling very well on Broadway. So who is to say it’ll sell well on the road? I did love the show though.
I can't say specifics, but a tour is planned, with a launch in fall of 2019. And since, of the 4 producers, one is a newly created conglomerate of touring theaters who have already booked the show through The Road Company, a tour is a pretty good bet.
Haven't seen all, so for some (mostly the creative awards) just copied some others and combined here and there, but for most I was able to use what knowledge I have and here are my final predictions. Nominations are always hardest to predict, but once we have them, it''l be easier to predict the winners.

This may be a stupid question, so I appoligize if it is. But, I haven’t seen any of the other plays besides HP, so I’m just wondering is there a chance Sam Clemmett might get nominated for featured too??

Would love for him to be, but there’s too much competition. Wouldn’t totally rule him or, but it is highly unlikely.
Okay, can someone PLEASE explain Taylor Louderman to me? I don't live in NYC, so I haven't seen any shows, but is she really THAT good in Mean Girls? Because, with all the respect in the world for Tina Fey, I just can't see her edging out Jessie Mueller or Patti Murin.
Bwayfan292 said: "As much as I despise Spongebob, do we think Ethan Slater could pull out a win?"
Still the long shot but I think at this point it can be very possible that there people that early on were possibly going to vote Henry might turn instead to Paton and the spread could let Slater or Shalhoub slip in. Really I think it's more likely that Shalhoub gets it over Slater still but the chances are certainly better now then they were before Carousel ended up far more mixed then expected.

"Oh look at the time, three more intelligent plays just closed and THE ADDAMS FAMILY made another million dollars" -Jackie Hoffman, Broadway.com Audience Awards
How many nominations do you think HP and Angels can get? Can they tie for the record for plays (10)? It looks like with it being ineligible for Score, HP caps its noms to 10, tying the record. However, since Featured Actor for Angels has the potential to range from 2-3, plus getting all the design categories if it can snag Costumes (its least likely nomination in my opinion), it can break the record (11 or even 12).
I could see HP getting more than 10: Best play, director, scenic design, lighting, costume, sound editing, orchestrations, choreography, featured actor (in reallllllly hoping both Sam and Anthony get nominated, but definitely Anthony), actor and featured actress.
I was THIS close to putting HP in Orchestrations, but I feel like it's such a competitive category.
I feel like TBV used unique instruments never before heard on a Broadway stage, Spongebob created a cohesive sequence of songs from different artists, and OOTI actually did a lot with lessening the instrumentations and layering vocals, so they're locks for me. Carousel has Jonathan Tunick with a full orchestra and Prince of Broadway has Jason Robert Brown stitching unrelated songs together and their work has been praised as well. I'd imagine Frozen would also have used unique instruments in its orchestra, so that's also a possibility. And My Fair Lady could sweep. Plus, Farinelli is also getting praise for its music.
For the sake of not typing out dozens of names, for all non-performance categories I will be writing the name of the show instead of the person/people responsible. Hope no one finds that offensive. (Side note: as of this past Sunday I have seen every single new eligible show this season, so take that as you will as far as my judgement goes) * denotes who I think will win (not should win, necessarily imo)
