Cinders I'm pleased you're pleased. Yes I think this is the one and in conversations with certain unnamed production team folk, I'd say THEY also believe they've found their Vivian for Broadway. She's enchanting and everything just clicks. As far as describing the score, I'd say it's a great mix of up-tempo (but not purely rock) sounds with a couple of power numbers for Vivian, and some beautiful ballads...and a couple of wonderful pastiche songs for fun. It really works. as for...."the song", well, you'll just have to see the show!
Anyone have ideas of when tickets or dates will be announced?

Samantha Barks is STUNNING as Vivian - charming, empowered, confident, appropriately goofy. Great voice in some killer songs. She's going to surprise those skeptics, and charm the pants off the audience. Steve Kazee is also a perfect Edward - steely to the world until Vivian's charm warms him from the inside out. Jason is a terrific Stucky and Orfeh knocks it out of the park as Kit. Rounding out the roles Eric Anderson is brilliantly charming and silly in his multiple roles. The score is a winner...and I think SO is this show. Jerry Mitchell has brilliantly transitioned some iconic scenes in the movie (the opera) to the stage. It's got heart galore.
Yes I love Annaleigh but I never saw any of the previous iterations of the show. The one I saw was a joy.
Just see it in Chicago and form your own opinions, but the audience stood and cheered at the presentations. For theatre folk, that's rare indeed."
Im glad, but your last point is not true. I’ve been to many read through/workshops of musicals in London and New York and (as is in your DNA there) they always give a standing ovation in NYC.. regardless of the quality.

It will play the Nederlander. https://m.playbill.com/article/pretty-woman-musical-finds-its-broadway-home-sets-summer-201pening
Not smart at all to open in the Summer.
They must feel pretty confident to open in August.
I hope the theater doesn't stay dark until then.
This logo may be temporary but why is this the same logo as Billy Elliot?

Also very surprised by the summer opening. Not sure if this will work to their benefit.

It's taken from the original marketing of film version of Pretty Woman.

I think it's a great move on their part. The name will sell some tickets, so why not gain some momentum going into the winter months?
Interesting that it's not only opening in AUGUST but also so soon after the CHICAGO run -- all signs point to confidence in the production, no?? They are likely trying to capitalize on the quieter fall season as well -- it's a risky move for sure because what if the reviews are bad??
I hope OREFH wins the Tony!
An opening in the middle of SUMMER at Broadway’s arguably most “cursed” theatre? Good luck!
What I don't get is... what if the reviews from CHICAGO aren't good?? They aren't really leaving enough room for tweaks / improvements -- unless they really think the show is that good?? That or they are banking on name recognition of PRETTY WOMAN and BRYAN ADAMS, since the cast isn't known to non-BROADWAY people...
Very interesting decision... I wonder if this will be a hit or flop and close immediately...

Glad to hear positive reviews on Samantha Barks in the role. she was great in the movie version of les mis, but was not that great in Amelie.
I join the other board members that question the august start...my guess is they like the cast they've put together and keeping all those talents tied up until spring or even a november opening would be challenging and or expensive....
one of my all time fav movies so sure hoping the get the stage version right (i somehow think back to saturday night fever.....)
Does anyone know when the discount code will come out? Checked TICKETMASTER today and there were barely any seats sold so I'm assuming they'll have to discount soon...
Not for several months. I'm surprised tickets went on sale for already, seems unnecessarily early. I wouldn't expect any discounts until 2 or 3 months prior. And even then, possibly only during previews (at first, anyway.)
Okay! I will just wait for the discount code then, since demand for this one seems to be non-existent for the moment ....
Curious to know why they released tickets now ... Marketing is already off to a terrible start for this one
I just browsed tickets for this expecting there to be lots available... and there's hardly anything left for the first week of previews. How is this selling so well?!

I don't know. Maybe people are actually interested in seeing this maybe? Don't judge a book by its cover, BroadwayConcierge. And also, stop writing stuff off please. Just because you think you have the right and the power to deem something as probably being a flop before a show even has one performance on Broadway doesn't mean you should (Gettin' the Band Back Together being the only exception at this point...)
