So I was looking at the schedule for See What I Wanna See and there is no show scheduled for Nov. 17. Do you think that might be the night of the RENT premiere and since Idina will most likely want to attend, they've cancelled the performance? Usually premieres are about a week prior to a film's release, so time wise it makes sense. Or its possible the show is cancelled for some other reason, but it seems kind of random, that there is no performance 3 days before the show closes.

Not sure but good question. It might be. Maybe someone smarter than me knows. Good eye though.
It is indeed the 17th, which is why SWIWS is not performing.

Wait, is this the NY premiere or LA premiere?

It's at the Ziegfeld.
Wow, would they really cancel a show specifically because one of the actresses has other plans? I didn't realize Idina had that much pull. Are there no understudies?
So how do these premiers work? Is it only a select invited audience? Can we random RENTheads somehow muscle our way in? Or are we only allowed to camp outside and fawn over the cast?
EverythingIsRENT, I think they may have guards posted weeks to keep Rentheads from forming anything that resembles a line.
No, seriously, I want to know if there's any chance I can really see the premier!
i know in la, they hand out free tickets on the street in front of pantages just to get a "young" crowd in, but a lot should be invite

That's cool. I wanna go to the premiere. I'd have to go in NYC and i doubt I could get in anyway. Oh well.
See What I Wanna See has a screwy schedule. They have no performances the Veteran's holiday weeknd (Nov. 11). I can't come up with a reason for that one.
Hmmm, so basically just hang around the theatre and hope I get lucky?
bwayfan3 , rent changed the release so that schedule may have been made when the select release was still 11/11
so there is a premiere in la on the 17th as well?
At premieres you can usually wait on the red carpet and the actor's sign autographs prior to the film. But you won't get to see it.
so there's NO chance I can get in? ::sigh:: I just cannot stop being bitter about the stupid RENThead contest...I could have won, dammit!!

I'm incredibly confused....the premiere is in which city on which date? That's all I want to know.
I'm pretty sure it's NEW YORk at the Ziegfield (what is that like 56 between 6th and 7th or so?) on November 17.
I don't know about an LA premiere. If there is one, I bet it will be small. I would presume the major premiere is the NY one.
zzannahk, I don't think so because it's blocked out for multiple shows.

Thanks!
At the Bway Flea Market when they auctioned off the premiere package, the auction booklet said 11/17 OR 11/18 at the Zeigfeld. But Anthony and Tracie said the 17th for sure.
The chances of getting into the premiere are pretty much zero. It's organized by the studio, red carpet and all that. Since attending the premiere was auctioned off for charity I don't think they'll be admitting anyone without an invite.
The Zeigfeld often issues numbered seats for premieres as well - like a ticket to a show.
