Does BC-EFA have anything planned?
Or will it be Roseland redux?
[I called them yesterday, and couldn't get an answer]
Roseland is booked this year already so I think its going to be rain or come shine outside
I'd rather shop in the rain than go through Roseland again.
The rain date is the next Sunday Oct 3. Hopefully the forecast will change and it'll be nice out.
Just in case the weather efused to cooperate, I booked a great center orchestra seat for Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson. Anyone else going??

I just looked on the BCEFA website and see nothing about a raindate
Where did you get the rain date info from Cape?

When I watched NY1 News this morning, the forecast for Sunday is sunny (and no rain). I'm hoping a rain date is irrelevant.

I have also heard sunny for Sunday.
And considering that last year, they did it on a moment's notice, I had no major problem with Roseland. Yes it was hot, yes it was a fire hazard much of the time, but it was still a very good solution.

There was one year when it rained and they moved the celebrity table and photo booth to the upstairs lobby of the Minskoff Theater. The used the downstairs lobby and the "tunnel" for other tables. I guess a show wasn't playing at the Minskoff at the time.
I don't remember.
Last year wasn't so bad but I didn't venture into the "basement" area that was said to be hotter that Tartarus. I mostly stayed upstairs where the photo booth/celeb table was. There was a couch there so that was great. I remember when I first got there it was really hot but once I was there for a bit I didn't even notice anymore.
Doing it in a venue like the Roseland Ballroom isn't a terrible thing, they just need to organize it better.

From a friend who works for Broadway Cares.
I just looked at weather.com and they still predict showers for Sunday. It's still 5 days away so that can easily change.

Heh, yeah I was working in the basement and it was awful down there. No ventilation and dim lighting.
If there's a hell, I'm positive it resembles The Roseland flea market last year. It was just that awful.

I agree, Jordan. What is my favorite day of the "Broadway Year" was totally ruined for me.
I also agree......what a horrible, hot and disorganized mess that was. Having said that, I enjoyed myself the whole time.

THIS. I stayed for a little while and left because it was so miserable.
I'm really hoping that if it does rain Sunday, they don't have to reschedule. I'm not sure I'll be able to get off work again.
It amazes me that an event this large and this big does not have a rain plan in place. The event last year in Roseland was so poorly thrown together that it literally seemed as if they had a meeting the day before and came up with that plan. There should have already been a contingency plan in place long before the day before the event.

Im planning my first visit to the flea market this year, hope it doesnt rain. After the market we too have great center orchestra seats to BBAJ, great plans, hope it pans out
Assuming this event does indeed stay outside, how crowded does it usually get? This is my first time going and I'm wondering if I'm going to have to fight huge crowds or not?
I, too, hope it doesn't rain, but will be there no matter what the weather is. I'm also planning on seeing Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, but am waiting to buy my ticket until Sunday.
backwoodsbarbie, expect huge crowds. You have to be patient and be willing to wait to sift through stuff. It's totally worth it though.
Weather update:
"Few Showers"
Precip. 30%
High 67 degrees - Low 60 degrees.
Not ideal, but not horrible - should be OK.
Now the forecast for sunday is rainy...uh oh.
EDIT: Didnt realize someone already said that.
