As Roxie in Chicago from January 6 - March 29, 2020

I actually think she could be a lot of fun. I appreciate that she's doing a 12-week run. Seems longer than most of the stars that pop in and out.

Not to mention playing Roxie which must be a lot more rehearsal time than just playing Mama.
Speaking of, if they could get Luann as Mama during Erika's run...

I 💯 want to see this. She’s so great and a true performer. She’s gonna rock!!!
First casting decision in the last 5 years where I am actually interested in seeing the show. So nice that it's the role of Roxie rather than Mama Morton.
I actually think she will be good and will sell tickets.

Totally agreed LOL. I’ve lived here 6 years, been visiting longer, and this is the first time I’m considering buying tickets for the Ambassador (the Majestic is another story).
Oh hush, she's a pop singer with enough talent. She'll be loads of fun.
Her being paired with AFW!! Not even free tickets would get me in there.

It'll sell tickets, sure... And bring in a whole ****-show of an audience with it.
I predict she'll be a steaming hot mess. She doesn't sing live (well, as a 'pop star'
and the majority of her dancing is sticking out her ass and grinding.
I'd be curious to see how much they cut down the choreo for her.
Pat the puss!

There is always a limited version of the choreography available to those performers. I call it Fosse 2.0. If you look at the duration of her contract (Jan. 6-- March 29, 2020), that time falls during the dreaded winter months. If she turns out to be good, then the show has given itself a shot in the arm to handle usually dicey grosses during wintertime.

I'm definitely going to see this. Hoping I get a Velma understudy.
I'm excited about this. While she's been frustrating as a Housewife recently, she's been trying to be a performer all her life. (Unlike a certain countess dining on her sobriety.) So I think she has the confidence to have fun with it and will really be trying.
I agree, This will be her a chance to prove that she’s the legitimate performer she’s been trying to be. I think her first season on BH they showed her vocal lessons, underneath the auto tune there’s definitely a voice that can carry a tune.

AFW?"
Amra-Faye Wright.
I don’t see the dancing being dumbed down too much for her. Erika was also on Dancing with the Stars, while not amazing it wasn’t bad.
I’d bet anything that the bravo cameras are there and this will be on RHBH
Has anyone seen her? Any reports or reviews?
I went last night and in all honesty I thought Erika was great! I thought her acting was spot on, she sang what she could and they made some minor adjustments, but she was never talking through a song, never flat or off key. She can move well! Not the perfect Fosse dancer but she looked great and was always on the right step. Erika looked like she was having a blast and I truly enjoyed every moment she was on that stage! She played Roxie a little more tough but she landed the jokes!
And for her fans she does come out the stage door. It was freezing last night and she signed every playbill, took selfies and talked to each person. I was amazed at how much time she spent with her fans!
I revisited the show for the first time in 10 years because of her and was not let down, the rest of the production is another discussion.

“ she sang what she could and they made some minor adjustments”
Sounds about right.
Not sure if anyone else posted this cute promo video, but it’s fun.
They should do limited merch for their stunt castings, could be a good way to make some money off Bravo fans, etc. I’ll be going to see Erika at some point, hopefully the ensemble has either woken up or had some turnover. That was the weakest link for me last year.
I saw her two nights ago and thought she was great. Granted the bar might be pretty low for CHICAGO at this point, but she brought much needed life to the proceedings. The only questionable moment was the Hot Honey Rag - hopefully that will become more confident over her run.
I’d be surprised if she couldn’t sing the score as written. Roxie is a very easy sing. They showed Erika in voice lessons in her first season on Housewives and her first album isn’t as auto tuned as her more recent stuff. There’s definitely a voice there.
I saw the show back in September with Charlotte and Lana Gordon and thought the show was in terrific shape. Hope the ensemble isn't bored already as there's a bunch of new faces in the show recently.
