This drama is probably more interesting than the show would have been.
Too bad Irra Petina is long gone (bless her soul). There had to be a good role for her somewhere in this circus of an enterprise.
sucks for the cast & crew, but I doubt this would have lasted long anyway.
Note: there is no confirmation of this...just Riedel's speculation and "sources". While I'm not shocked by this, and suppose it is true, we could find out very differently tomorrow.
I didn't have much interest in the show itself, but pretty terrible news for the cast, the crew, and their families. Hoping they all recover quickly.
Love that Riedel not only can't get the credit right, but doesn't get the name right: "composer Michael Koontz."
Lyricist-Book writer Michael Kunze.
Maybe next week they'll announce the show will open at the Little Shubert before the end of the year...
Maybe if they go on the internet tonight, they can get strangers to promise them 10 million on an email? Or is it too late?
Maybe he should start "The People of Rebecca" group.
He also says "the foundering $12 million Broadway musical" and I think he meant floundering.

To me this is extreemely disappointing since Rebecca was the only new musical coming out this Fall that I was interested in seeing. I guess I will have to wait till Spring to get my musical theater fix. For now, I guess the play is the thing. Oh,well to tied me over theres at least the Annie revival which I already have tickets for and Drood which I will likely see but mostly for Chita.
I'm not surprised it isn't going to open. but technically is not "officially off" based on Reidel.
That's ok, love. They will announce a national tour soon to make you feel better. Sure,it will never happen, but you will still be ok.
I heard Jill Paice got herself on the short list for MATILDA today.
Sigh. Knew this would happen.
Does this mean I get my refund (in the cash I spent and the gift card I used)? That'd be swell...
SO sad for the cast and crew, though.
SPRINGTIME FOR HITCHCOCK
Someone consult the history books... Is this the first Broadway show to die from an indirect case of malaria?

ClydeBarrow, google is your friend :)
Foundering means to "fail or break down, typically as a result of a particular problem or setback."
This saddens me deeply. I was so excited to see this remarkable cast. What a letdown.

Fingers, toes and eyes crossed for the company of Rebecca. Hoping it happens.

It's horrible for the cast, but I was expecting this since they announced trouble a long time ago.
