re: Regis and Kelly Broadway Week

Erin & Christine performed Peas in a Pod in costume. Nothing special or snazzy about it. The stage was quite darkened. Christine's audio was kind of muffled at points, but she was great. poor Erin...as soon as they actually asked a question, the audience was applauding and you couldn't hear her.

I'm a little pissed that I woke up even earlier to see the Today show, and Christine didn't sing. I guess I must have read the article wrong, but I thought the whole thing was that she was performing as Little Edie, and then an hour later doing Big Edie. I must have been wrong.

Wednesday "Grey Gardens" Two Peas in a Pod with Christine Ebersole & Erin Davie.

WOW ! All I can say is I am always an avid fan of Grey Gardens and its my favorite show this season... Has anyone noticed that Erin Davie looks really skinny ? I dont think she was that "skinny' , when I saw it last October at the Walter Kerr..

BTW- Christine Ebersole & Erin Davie look like a "real" mother and daughter.
Dont start me with that ACT 1 and ACT 2 discrepancies.. we could go for hours and a million threads. My Spouse and I argued about it for hours... I think ... ACT 1
transitioned to ACT 2 perfectly.. pls dont start ( no response to this pleeeease)

The song is a completely different brand of retro pastiche out of the context of the show. It's hard to tell if, for the purposes of this show, that's a good or bad thing.

They were great, of course.

I (sort of) attended the show this morning. Got up at 5 to be there by 6 for standby. Got number 8 and they let in 7. The lady told us to come back for the second show, but since we were there only to see GG, we told her that and she snuck us in for the GG segment, which was very nice. They looked adorable in person! Kelly actually looked enthralled while she was watching. I absolutely loved it, and being there was fun.

A little OT from the Regis and Kelly discussion, but did anybody happen to tape Raúl's performance on the CBS Early Show this morning? My mother, who hardly ever has anything nice to say about him, called to tell me how good he was, so I'd really like to see it.. I'd be willing to pay postage and whatever if someone could send me a copy of their tape.

Only woke up early enough to see Grey Gardens, which was intresting. As someone who has seen the show, I got it quickly, but no one else got the... layers (to use the worst word) that that song has in context. I guess that's a good thing to have something light early in the morning, but will it sell tickets?

Sorry em, did't see it. re: Regis and Kelly Broadway Week Now I want to, though.

All the Regis & Kelly on the forbidden site is Spring Awakening from ages ago.

re: Regis and Kelly Broadway Week

For some reason, I feel that Five Fifteen would've been a better number to perform for a morning show. That said, I really enjoyed Peas in a Pod, but I noticed that Erin kept going in and out of her accent, yes I know that she was singing most of the time and saying a lot of Gould's lines.

I kept flipping to CBS all morning, but I never caught the performance.

I didn't tape it this morning but it was really good and I was impressed with the interviewer because he seemed to really appreciate Raul's performance and was a fan of the show. I got a kick out of him wearing the same suit as the drama desks.

So what was it exactly? Did she perform at all or was it a segment on the show?

re: Regis and Kelly Broadway Week

No, she was a Model. they were discussing diff. fashion trends, and after Jackie O, they talked about her eccentric cousin and Ebersole came out and just modeled. They asked her a few questions but that was it.

re: Regis and Kelly Broadway Week

no! it was complete bullsh*t they just brought her out during a segment about fashion trends and had her model a Little Edie-esque outfit (not from the show) it was really awkward b/c the b*tch from What Not to Wear had no clue who Ebersole was and all the while the interviewer tried to include Christine in the conversation the WNTW chick just kept talking and Ebersole barely got a word in.

re: Regis and Kelly Broadway Week

^ Calm down. To be fair Ebersole was JUST a model for that segment. It wasn't for an interview. And Ebersole seemed happy to be doing that. And the WNTW lady seemed to know a lot about Little E's fashion, etc. That's why she was there. She (wntw lady) wasn't on to discuss the Broadway show Grey Gardens. She was there for the fashion.

Taking that song out of context (PEAS IN A POD) was a bit strange, but Christine made ir work, Erin, on the other hand does absolutely nothing for me.
I wish Neil would have taken his shirt off, he looks cute like that.
Good for him for supporting THE PIRATE QUEEN!

"If POPPINS does that SUPERFU**CALI... song I will puke."

And I guarantee that's what they'll do. I doubt I'll even watch tomorrow just because I'm so sick of that song. They make it seem like that's the only song from that show.
