Yeah, and I feel like that song is hard to perform on your own, in the early morning, in a very well lit setting without the rest of the cast around you.
I cant believe how much we've picked apart what is probably less than a 2 minute song, lol

Great performance from Raul.
And all I can say about Kelly, my love Kelly....well, you can tell she writes her own questions.

I like that Kelly thinks ALL versions of Sweeney Todd have actors playing instruments.
Someone get that woman some writers.
yeah I thought that too. Just to back track a little. emcee or anyone- do you have any idea why they aren't doing Being Alive w/o everyone else on Sunday? I thought they were gonna do it w/ all the "want something..." etc.
According to the Post article a few people have alluded to, it would cost the producers too much money to pay the entire cast to perform on the broadcast. I'll miss the dialogue, though -- it feels so right they way they push Bobby along and get him to the finale. Oh well.
I think. The Producers decided not to pay all the other actors, so they only asked Raul to performed with Jonathan Tunick's original orchestration but with a full symphony though, from musicians of the Tony's (per Riedel's column?) Correct me if I am wrong?-j*
Yeah, Riedel wrote something about them possibly using Tunick's orchestrations, but that hasn't been confirmed anywhere else.
I don't understand why they would use Tunick's orchestrations... it makes sense not to have the entire cast, but to disregard Cambell's work... I don't know. It just seems bizarre to me.
Fabulous performance by Raul this morning, wondering how he was going to pull it off.

Yeah for a second I was almos timpressed when she mentioned him seeing Sweeney on Broadway when he was 15--I thought she was leading to a question like "so you must have enjoyed Sondheim for a long time"--instead she was going into a question as if he musta fallen for doing shows where people perform their own instruments from that experience

I know, I did such a facepalm when she said that. "So this is the same kind of thing with everyone playing their own instrument"
It's okay, Kelly. You get points for doubling your son's birthday cake as the kids party favors

Kelly usually likes Hispanics.
She obviously never heard of Raul.
After Sunday night I guess she might but I don't see her watching the TONYS.
Has there been no rumor about the Tunick orchestrations being used at the COMPANY Stage Door?
or is the company of COMPANY still bitter that the were not invited to perform?
The Company clip is up on the site for anyone who missed it. YAY! :)

While I don't know this for a fact, I think the company of COMPANY would rather have the show run a little longer than pay the additional costs associated with a full cast performance on a TV show of limited promotional value. The cost of a full production number is unbelievable.

Great plug for Xanadu in the host chat segment, a few minutes ago.
Ripa must be an aquired taste. She always seems to be filling in for the "real" host, never seems to know any specifics, and makes Kathy Lee seem like Barbara Walters. Watching Neil Patrick Harris fake those laughs in response to her strained attempt to promote a film her husband made (and no one saw) is especially painful.
By the way: One could sense a BROKEBACK styled joke coming ... the men thrown together in the pup tent/fox hole thing ... but with the gay Harris present, too many echoes of Clay Akin were hovering, and they jumped past that quickly.
Side note: Loved that Drowsy Chaperone commercial
Love NPH, but I can't stand her (first time ever watching this show). GG performance was great, just wish they had a bit more substance to their interview.
Review of the performance, please!
