Unfortunately, the Trump rally hate that Patti Murin started against the board is still going, as I still see actors calling for its shutdown while retweeting her blog. That's the real legacy Murin wants, I guess, no matter what PR flapping she does after the fact. I hope Rob doesn't "work" too closely with her, or I'll bet she'd ask for moderator rights.

I don't see this ending well at all. Obviously they're shouldn't be too harsh of language on the board, but what Patti has started isn't just going to go away. Especially with the Broadway community coming down on us. I fear the worst. Patti (I believe not her actual intention) has taken a safe place for theatre discussion and turned into a witch hunt of sorts.
Are posters still not receiving notifications and an explanation of why when a post is removed?
Growl....the guidelines state that BWW had the right to remove any post without prior notification.
BWW does not pre-screen or regularly review any contributed content, but BWW has the right (though not the obligation) to remove, without notice, any content posted which BWW considers, for any reason, to violate these Terms or to be outside the subject scope of the Services. We may terminate any BroadwayWorld.com Account, with or without notice, for posting such content.
From Rob's post on page 19 of this thread:
"This new, and more clear and communicative warning and suspension system will indeed alert posters as to when something was removed, and why."
Oh okay ,then they seriously need to revise the guidelines that are currently posted on the site to reflect those changes.
I'm sure they'll get around to it at some point.
I have a feeling there may be more changes to come.
i miss the old days when rob would call me and calmly ask me to please stop antagonizing the insane. then we'd meet from drinks and the issue would be decided either by arm wrestling or by whoever could still stand after epic martini consumption. this actress woulda never stood a chance in those days. she'da passed out and we'da drawn penises on her forehead with sharpies and left her outside the edison with a toetag reading, "emotionally exhausted and morally bankrupt."
Yeah, I have no problem with the ToS not being updated yet. I'm just looking for consistency between words and actions.
and you're looking for this because.......?

NO. WE ARE NOT. i posted a question asking about more transparency and also about margo's suspension, or lack thereof. rob proceeded to respond to my post indirectly but then delete it... without any notification or explanation. that goes against what he said on page 19 and no, rob, i do not want to message you every time you -- or a faceless nameless moderator -- delete a post of mine for the reasoning behind it. there should be a simple, easy system set up for it. not very difficult to do
"there should be a simple, easy system set up for it. not very difficult to do."
that's not necessarily true. it really depends on the software. i've been on many boards that have gone through similar situations and it's rarely easy or quick. i've seen it require complete changes to the architecture of the board. since this has just been announced, i would think that a few days at the very least would be afforded the admins to work out a system, even if that system is simply each mod sending a message at the time of deletion, but in order the make the system uniform or to automate it could take longer.
You should have received a notification JM, and I will check with the others on the team here to make sure that all are aware of the two way street of communication and respect, and our in-progress updates which we'll make clear on the guidelines.
And the request to PM us for questions like these isn't an issue of transparency, it's an issue of making sure we see, and are able to answer as speedily as possible. We won't be reading every post on the board for board questions, so PM (or email) is the best way to reach us.
Obviously I'm watching this thread, and happy to provide this answer but I'm in and out today and tonight, which is another reason it's not the best method to reach me, or us, most of the time.
Good questions though, and absolutely agree re: clarifying them, thanks!
ps - Papa's method sounds like an equally good idea.
(and correct Papa that we're improving both systems and communications to make all of this easier. In fact, we just released a fix for the GIANT images on the reply message page that have been an annoyance for a while).
Rob says: ps - Papa's method sounds like an equally good idea.
Which one of Papa's methods? The one for message deletion or the one for drawing penises on people's foreheads?
Can we draw penises on other peoples forehead, and who would have guessed that the most hated person on this forum was not Michael Riedell or how ever you spell his name!
penis foreheads for all my friends!!
forehead penises, surely?
(sorry to open another can of worms)
Seems like Javier has an opinion. I was skimming through his tweets and most are positive but he doesn't have a problem telling people to myob, he was telling people not to act like his parents about something. It read a bit aggressive

Could you explain why PRS's request for deletion was not honored or why Margo's posts stand?
"
I have never heard of an account on any msg board where I'm a member being deleted. Even FB makes it difficult, Twitter is easier. I guess they just figure if you want to go, then go. Not sure what the policy is here.

Nothing. He said "If it fills u up in any way to snark on theater chat boards? Then please never speak to any of us. Ever. Like ever." Now people will NEVER go see his shows again. Oh, the drammmmma. He was clearly talking about the people that are mean and nasty on here and tear actors down. It's really funny and honestly, most tourists who pay money to see shows will never look at this board, so he hasn't lost much support anyways. He then responded to a rude remark by being defensive back. So again, he did nothing wrong.
"I was thinking it'll be nicer. He was the nastiest and rudest person on here."
I agree 1000%

I agree that the first part was fine but it's the "I'm with Patti" line. She wanted them shut down and saying he's with her, implies he wants the same. If he didn't include this line, it'd be a different story. Word choice is everything.
True.
Javier specified "trolls" at least.
Of course anyone who doesn't care for an actor's performance is probably considered a troll by that actor, so it's still a matter of opinion.
Whoever the person who replied to Javier is also pointed out that message boards have a lot of positives too.

Actually, he didn't imply it, he was pretty straightforward that he wanted them gone, even asking his followers to retweet that message. A bit silly. Happy to see that people are responding with the boards' positive aspects.

Oh, I misunderstood bc the reply to the poster here who tweeted him (forgot your handle, sorry) he rudely told her "pay attention" and implied he was only referring to the negative people. He could have said that in a much more positive way. It's funny because I was at Hamilton door last year and it was busy. He came out and no one but a group of 3 guys and me knew who he was. I think theater people know him but to the general public, he's the guy who you saw somewhere but can't remember. He's too flippant for his own good.

Oh no worries, just wanted to clarify for everyone that he isn't on the fence about what he means. It's very black and white to him. And I agree about the tone thing. All his tweets and responses on this topic have been pretty poor in tone.

Ha! I know what you mean. I didn't even realize he was in The Wild Party and I saw that! Probably a good thing because I thought his Burrs was fantastic and it might have been enough for me to want to see him again in The Robber Bridegroom. But now I'm so happy I didn't buy tickets or bend over backwards to drag a friend along.
