Aren't these the climbing boots?

For the sets. For that reason alone. :)
And you had best stand up and applaud them!!!!
All of this and the score. I want to see the sets and hear the songs. I will be a tween again and love every second of it.
I like Riedel more than most people, but this reads as sponsored content, and not great sponsored content at that.
I will give the sets a standing ovation!

That's totally fair.
As a geek for the technical side of theater, I'm sooooo intrigued by the design. I cannot wait for it to start previews and hear about it. I'm almost ready to buy a ticket to Denver!
You know people will applaud the castle. Its gonna happen.
“We’re not doing an exact copy of the movie,” says Schumacher. “We evoke the movie, but we’re creating something original for the stage.”
Oh, boy. People are going to be PISSED!

Or not. It's not like all Disney Broadway shows have been exact copies of the films except this one.

Yes, they have some Bradway credits but DISNEY is the Star once again.
It should do well unless they really screw it up.
"
You are clueless aren't you? Bless.
patti and Caissie won't be paid peanuts for this don't you worry. You really thought they'd cast someone 'famous'? If ever a show didn't NEED star names to sell tickets, it's this.
Alright the boards have spoken
Two drawings they don't like of costumes for a show that hasn't even started previews out of town. Yup, just SHUT the whole thing down.

Right? Had anyone ever heard of Adele Dazeem before the film? NO.
Mister Matt -- totally kidding. I'm sure I'll give the music some applause, too. ![]()

I can't pinpoint which character or costume that could possibly be...I'm not kidding. It literally looks like they stole Denee's/Natasha's long sleeved dress from "Great Comet" and redesigned it. I'm not knocking it btw, I actually loved that costume, that's what came to mind when I saw this and am trying to figure this out. I'm guessing it's Caissie since her commenting on it is a clue in itself.
Frankly I'm also just waiting on pins and needles for the usual marketing "first look" clip montage. You know...the one that every show does. I know Disney likes to keep everything under wraps as long as possible for everything they do, but ggeeeezzz where's this one, it starts in a matter of DAYS

I for some reason thought they would just do this for money. But it seems that Disney and Michael is taking some care and attention to the musical and actually care. I think Disney has learnt its lessons from the past. And is doing lots of research if you look at Micheal's twitter it looks like they are trying to do things right. If it is on not we will find out this week.
Seeing glimpes of Michaels version of Frozen are really making me want to see what Alex Timbers had in mind. Wasn't it noted the Disnet Executives loved his labs and ideas? I want to know where that shifted.
If I had to guess, Timbers tends for the hipster esthetic - see his revival of The Robber Bridegroom - and even his Rocky was technically cool, but the ending was 20mins of standing around waiting for them to redesign the theater. I love his direction, but I feel like maybe he didn't have that oomph you'd want from this show?
If you look at Grandage's newest Instagram pic it shows some of the set. Looks like they built out the stage which I always love!
Hamilton, a show that is certainly "making the big bucks", has been full of people who were unknowns until that show made them stars.
Love, Hamilton made no one a star. People who can sell out a full run by their name alone are stars, so no one from Hamilton.

I certainly would not call Anna's mountain climbing outfit a "minor" costume for her. Not only is it her signature look at this point from merchandising to character appearances in Disney Parks but it likely going to be the costume that Anna will wear through the entity of Act 2. Also, it will likely be what she is wearing when she is *Do I NEED a spoiler alert by this point?* turned to ice. This is a key costume for her in the show and while it doesn't need to be exactly the same as the movie, to go with THAT drastic of a departure is jarring. Even just hints of the original color palette would help bridge the gap between old and new.

Assuming it's not "random ensemble background character in a crowd scene" my first guess was Anna and Elsa's mom. There aren't that many female characters of real significance aside from the leads.
And yes, Scarlet Leigh. Perhaps the costumes haven't had the time to become as "iconic" (questionable) as those from other Disney adaptations but they're still prominently featured in marketing and merchandising so discounting that the audience will have some expectation of seeing similar costumes seems like a mistake. It's like designing wigs that don't take the original hairstyles into account. The wigs and costuming are going to have to sell the characters since the actresses only have a passing resemblance to their animated counterparts and don't sound all that much like the voice actresses.

Or maybe it's Nina Lafarga? You know, the actress who's tagged in it as taking the stage.
