Nothing against Josh but Zachary? I want to see this production even more than before - if that's even possible. Yay...

Zachary Levi was great in First Date. I've been hoping to see him back on Broadway since it closed. I'm glad that he didn't take too long.

I was indifferent about Josh Radnor but Zachary Levi returning to Broadway is great news.

I like both Josh Radnor and Zachary Levi, but I am excited that Zachary Levi is coming back to Broadway. He was terrific in First Date! I never heard Josh Radnor sing live before - I only saw him in a play (Disgraced), where he was great. So of course, I would have liked to see Josh Radnor in a musical, but I know that Zachary Levi will be awesome! Can't wait for this one~
I heard a bootleg of Rador singing the title song to "She Loves Me" and he sounded fine. He would have been okay vocally.
However, I maintain my position that the show works MUCH better if Georg and Amalia are not particularly attractive, but are instead relatively average-looking people (i.e. Boyd Gaines and Judy Kuhn in the last revival...no offense to them). Levi and Benanti are both just too damn pretty for these roles.

I have to say, I was interested when it was Josh, but now it is one I don't want to miss.
I've been a fan of Zac's since I was in college and watched "Chuck" and thought he was wonderful in First Date even though the material was better suited for Off-Broadway. I am really excited to see him take on this show. I think him and Laura will be great together (not to mention the terrific supporting cast they've assembled).

Did Josh leave or was he fired/replaced?? This is shocking to me! I mean it's probably a great change but still, so unexpected to have a change.
Maybe there was some in-fighting in the cast. Gossip starts now.
They said in the article that it was scheduling conflicts.
I love both of these guys, so either way the show is a sell for me. It's cool how now BOTH First Date leads are gonna be back on Broadway this season. Maybe both as Tony nominees as well! How exciting.
Zachary Levi will always be Eugene Fitzherbert to me...hehe
Oh man, would I love to see this, but I'm not sure I'm going to be able to afford a spring NYC trip after the autumn one I have planned. Fingers crossed for a cast album at least. One can never have too many She Loves Me cast albums, is my motto.
This show has been prepping for quite some time so "scheduling problems" sounds "fishy" to me. And Radnor was the reason they were doing this revival, He instigated it.

As much as I love Laura I wish Kelli was doing this.
Does seem strange. But maybe he got some big movie and couldn't turn it down? O some big TV gig? He's on the same level of success as Levi. I don't see either being too "in demand."

Radnor is shooting the Ridley Scott PBS series "Mercy Street." There's nothing "fishy" about the conflict.

Zachary Levi actually has been pretty busy lately. Since Spring, he's been filming "Heroes Reborn", which is a 13-episode series airing in the fall. Then, he jumped immediately to LA to do a semi-regular role in Eva Longoria's sitcom called "Hot and Bothered" that's due to air sometime in 2016. During all that, he hosted a Syfy game show called "Geeks Who Drink" that is airing now and which his own company produces.

Have you seen photos of Barbara Cook in her younger years? She was a knockout.

No. Laura is better for the part.
I think Kelli reads a tad younger than Missy B. (they are probably close in age), but the men they are casting all read younger the ladies. I say "fishy" mostly because this has been in the works for quite some time and most popular Actors plan ahead. The reason stated above is different than another I've heard (about filming his recent Broadway Play). So it gets a little fishier. Didn't Patton Oswald have "scheduling" problems also? (Lips Together"?)

In regards to the "too pretty" argument, I do kind of agree that I find Laura Benanti to be a little more glamorous than what I would personally picture Amalia to be, but at the same time, I have high hopes she will sell the role well.
Zachary Levi will also probably do well, but my first instinct was that he was TOO handsome for the bumbling Georg Novack....nevertheless, my intense love of the show will probably make me go gaga over it no matter what.

That production is either finished or soon to be. It shouldn't conflict with this. Zachary Levi is in production of two series right now.
On the comments others have made about Zac being "too pretty", anyone who watched early seasons of Chuck know he can do "bumbling" pretty well. With the right haircut and a shave, he can look pretty nerdy.

Is this the actual artwork they're using for the production?

Not sure why someone would say that Kelli "reads" younger than Laura. Zach and Laura are nearly the same age - Kelli is several years older than both of them.
