Will it extend beyond next January or does it depend on how it does at the Tony awards?

It depends on how it does at the box office.
ljay889, I think Keith is referring to the fact that tickets are on sale only through January 2009.
No! It'll close and never open again.
Last I heard it was extended until sometime in 2009. I don't think I ever read anywhere as to when in 09 it was going to be extended to but only that it was going to play into next year.
I wouldn't be surprised to hear that the show is going to be an open run. It is selling well enough to be one.
Extension
It's an open-ended run, but yes, it will certainly open up a new block of tickets after January 09. It's gonna run for a while...

It is an open-ended run and will easily run into the winter of 2010.
I could see this pulling of close to a 5 year run.
wait, would they have to transfer if they wanted a longer run? i thought that lincoln center put up shows often.
I guess Lincoln Center would have to put on subscription shows in other houses, like Roundabout used to do.
That wouldn't be unusual for them. They mounted Seascape and Awake and Sing during The Light in the Piazza's run.
I would like to know this as well.
I'm sure this show will run and run but don't count on Szot, Morrison, and O'Hara to be staying in the show beyond January.
