STUFFED Off-Broadway

Saw this last year during previews so I can’t comment on this version. I thought it was an enjoyable piece, could have used some trimming, but it was funny and entertaining. It was basically Lisa Lampanelli having 3 friends over for drinks while they talk about life, some parts felt very stand-up like, but that’s not a bad thing.

I’m curious to see if they made any changes to it.

It just gets worse and worse for Blonsky...

Right.

I was hoping the meme would change to "Hey it's Nikki Blonsky from Stuffed on Off-Broadway". Alas! Hope she's doing fine.

Ouch! I think this is the last nail on her coffin.

Her recent OUT Magazine interview didn’t do her justice with her comments about the industry and now this.

There’s a reason why she wasn’t asked to participate in NBC’s recent HAIRSPRAY Live! like the 2 former Tracy Turnblads were. Her answer to this when asked: “no one ever reached out to me.”

Time to move onto other career goals as you definitely don’t know how to play the show business game. Yes, it’s a game and many know how to play it.

I find her so irritating...she was why I wasn’t so interested in seeing this honestly.

LOL to all of this.

I really enjoyed this! The set is basically a really small kitchen with a gigantic fridge that has chains all over it, the cast makes use of the space well but there are no major set changes. When you walk into the theater there's about thirty minutes of music playing mostly songs that have to do with being big such Fat Bottomed Girls, Baby Got Back, (something by Weird Al?). There is a lot of haze happening for some reason and that stuff lingers in the air a long while. There are four women and each has her own story and a real moment to shine on stage, some of the stories were pretty heartbreaking but before a moment of sentiment can sink in LL takes control of the show back using some of her own stand up. There were tons of laughs and the audience was really receptive, I laughed way harder than I expected. I am not the target audience for this show but would go back and bring people. This is really a great time for anyone fat, thin, male, female the material is very relatable. The run time is 90 minutes.

I'm glad to read this because I'm seeing this Sunday!

My friends and I also enjoyed it. Some bits are funnier than others, but everyone can relate to something in it.

I saw this Sunday and agree with the previous posters. It is very funny in spots. Lisa's stand-up was the best, in my opinion. If you like her and can get tickets for a good price, it's worth seeing. I thought the actress who replaced Nikki Blonsky was excellent.

I wouldn't call it a play but a therapy session for women with body and food issues. It was very well directed and the women were excellent. Some belly laughs.

This should come as no surprise. Everyone I talked to who saw the first production said it was bad. Everyone. And the performers in that first production were especially great.

It's telling that no one other than the playwright followed it to the now short-lived commercial production.

Despite all that, I was still interested in seeing it. I just didn't get there.

I saw the first production- in a mostly empty house, mind you- and yes, it was bad. Even the brilliant Ann Harada couldn't make it worthwhile.

It is just an amateurish piece of writing and barely even a play. I was shocked to see it get a commercial production.
