You got to admit 2 out of how performances she has done ain’t that bad
Her track record is pretty stunning. And I’m not gonna lie to say I’m not disappointed. They didn’t even know who was going on but I hope it’s Rashirdra - would love to see her again.

Was at the matinee and she was great. But it did seem like a lot to do a full weekend (Friday-two Saturday shows-Sunday matinee) before performing at the Tonys, especially with Audra taking at least two shows off and the DBH ladies calling out of the matinee.
It was my first time seeing all four leads at the same time. Glad I had the opportunity before Thaxton left.

Truly.
I bet after this, she won’t have another unscheduled absence. She’s a beast.

That's true of most shows though... I just checked Hamilton for example and found the same thing. It's rare that people purchase tickets far in advance any longer."
Exactly - it's more that I notice there are less tickets available Xhours before curtain now compared with a few weeks ago. I think we should see this reflected in an uptick in grosses this week and future weeks if it continues (although I guess Nicole being out last night might counterbalance).
A difficult day for absences - Audra, Jasmine, Megan/Jennifer all off for the matinee yesterday if I recall correctly, and Nicole out for the evening (I'm sure some of the others were out in the evening too just wasn't counting).
I’m convinced that if people don’t ‘get’ Nicole’s performance they often can’t see the subtext in what we are seeing. They look at Nicole’s ‘money, honey’ line or twearking moment and just see trashy TV acting. When really we are watching how sad and desperate this woman has become to cling onto her fading fame and beauty. It’s even more chilling and dystopic that a woman as beautiful as Nicole would even have to go through this, but we all know in our shallow superficial society this is EXACTLY what happens. I thought it was very vulnerable and hilarious when Nicole’s face was blown up and contrasted with young Norma. Suddenly, no one needed to ask if Nicole is too young anymore….the Director has made it clear she is not.

Yes to all of this. For me, this production asks the question 'What if one of the Kardashians lost their fame/fans?' - and the answer is terrifying.
Nicole's physical appearance is so clearly a reflection of beauty in this day and age and the way she behaves is clearly of someone living in the social media age. Yes this is a story that could have taken place 70 years ago but it could also happen now. It works on both levels for me while also existing in a void that really hammers home Norma's loneliness.

I've never understood the "Nicole sings great but she can't act" thing. She is extremely scary and disturbing as Norma. She doesn't seem anything like that in interviews.

I disagree with your Kardasian analogy totally. Norma was a big movie star who saw it all disappear as she aged. The Kardasians, much like Trump, are people who got famous on self-promotion. They may feel lost when they are out of the limelight, if they ever are please God, but it will not be tragic.
Anyone having issues purchasing tickets on the St. James website? I keep getting "Failed" on all my transactions but my cards are all perfectly fine.
The cynical part of me thinks they’re tinkering around with raising prices for the rest of the run and it’s messing up current transactions.
I wanted to snag a ticket for Thursday before she wins lol so damnit

Will try thank you!
I bought a ticket a few days ago, and the same thing happened where the transaction just would not go through. I called and had no problems. The very nice person on the phone said she hadn't heard of there being a widespread issue, but the wait to talk to someone was pretty long, so I wonder if there had been something happening that's happening intermittently again.
It keeps failing no matter if I do it on my computer or Apple Pay. My card works fine, so no clue how to solve this.

ATG is always very greedy, but I do hope they spend a bit more resources on fixing this issue - sounds like something intermittently breaks in their system.
i cannot believe we still have to CALL to purchase tickets in 2025
I’ve been trying all day. And couldn’t call as I was at a show. But I’ll keep trying.

The wait was probably long as the amount of people who had to call regarding the moving on the final performance. I was on hold about an hour or so.

Saw show for third time today, had to go when I learned it was David Thaxton's last performance Feel like he was robbed of Tony nomination. Thought he was just terrific.
Hope they take in at least best revival tonight, and more.
When sunset boulevard was announced in London I posted ‘whyyyy?’ on this forum. The idea of Nicole S doing this role seems absurd. And the show seemed lame. I was completely wrong on every level. One of the best productions and performances I have ever seen. And I’m so happy that theatre can continue to challenge my preconceptions and shock me.
I mean, Nicole beat AUDRA IN GYPSY. WOW. And to survive the MAGA accusations and Patti drama. This has to be one of the most impressive and unambiguous wins of all time. It can only mean that Nicole is THAT good.
