That would be great. With the only other commercially available version being the one filmed at The Curve in Leicester during COVID, I would very much look forward to a pro-shot version of this production.

My dream is that Nicole will win the tony and then bring her work back to London and tell us she has come home at last :).

"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022) "Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009) "Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000

I finally saw this today, and I thought the production, Nicole, and Tom were absolutely sensational. Nicole was scheduled off for a couple of days, and returned today in amazing form. I finally get what the hype is about with this revival.

But one gripe: the audience near me was absolutely horrid. I was in orchestra K101, and a guy in front of me kept FILMING the show for long periods of time throughout act 1. Then a woman two seats over from me would start filming because she saw him filming. I didn't see house staff accessible where I was sitting, so I had to wait until intermission to address it. At intermission, I did let the house staff and security know what was happening, and I overheard others from myself section saying they had also complained. At intermission, staff came over to my section and announced "there have been complaints about excessive phone usage in this area" - but one problem, the guy who was filming in front of me wasn't in his seat yet.

So of course, act 2 begins, and he and the woman in my row are filming throughout, and finally at the end of AIFWNSG an usher told him to stop, and both parties did stop for the rest of the show. And just as I had thought being annoyed was over, during the end of the MAD SCENE, a guy a row ahead of me on the side aisle turns on his cell phone, and all of his notifications came through with his phone camera flashing for each notification. Literally as Nicole was singing the final notes of the finale.

I swear audiences get worse each time I go to a Broadway show nowadays. Luckily, I did catch the evening performance of Dead Outlaw, and the audience was very well behaved.

I hate that your experience was tainted that way. I’ve experienced some really awful audiences of late too, but thankfully not at SUNSET (…yet).

Shows shouldn’t have to implement an announcement to remind audiences to be respectful (and frankly, half the time they do, the audience still does whatever they want anyway).

I’m not sure what the answer is, but maybe those YONDR pouches aren’t such a bad idea…

Did anyone have the opportunity to catch Rashidra Scott this last week? How was she?

David Thaxton will depart on June 8, and Jordan Donica will play Max for the rest of the run.

Jordan Donica is such a talent. I can't help but be bummed for Shavey Brown who I saw go on as Max a couple months ago and was absolutely fantastic.

Donica is very talented, but unless he’s got another gig, I would have liked Shavey Brown to get the opportunity. I also saw him as Max and thought he was terrific.

1) That’s really unnecessary to say. He shouldered A LOT in Camelot and a friend of mine in the cast had told me that “he never seemed like he was ever not sick”. (Mind you, COVID was still a presence in 2023). If he had to sing that score while sick, a lack of rest could destroy his voice

2) He’s 31. I know he reads older, but I think this is annoying odd dynamic considering he is 15 years younger than Nicole and so for him to have “discovered” her is definitely a a big suspension of disbelief . David is 3 years younger, but reads older.

My London friend speculated he leaves a month before closing as he may have been cast in Regent's Park Brigadoon. He's worked there before.

I saw Jordan multiple times as Raoul in Phantom and loved his voice, but the above is my problem with this casting. He looks/reads too young for the role.

I love this revival but “young hot Max” makes no sense to me any time I’ve seen it. Age diversity is good! Give me Patrick Page or Phillip Boykin or Ron Raines or Stokes.

I agree 100%!!! No reason to bring in and cast Jordan who looks way too young for 4 weeks only to play Max!? They should have just allowed Shavey to go on for the remainder of the run as he's terrific as Max and has gone on often! Shame on the producers for not showing cast loyalty. I would like to know the reason why they had to do this? Jordan will do nothing for the show and he's all wrong for Max not only age wise! Should be interesting seeing Max with a fro unless he buns it or ponytails?

The whole show is suspension of disbelief. I wonder for people who saw the show for the first time if they understood the plot of this production.

Yes, a bit like young hot Peron. Don't get me wrong, I liked this SUNSET and want to see his EVITA. But it does alter the story...

I always feel sorry for people that buy tickets expecting it to be the closing and then having it change on them but I accept this is always a risk. More time for people to see Nicole’s Tony winning performance ;).

St James automatically moved our dates purchased for the 13th to the 20th, so we’re still seeing the final show.

ok nice I assume you requested this? (I can't imagine they automatically assume people bought for the 13th it means they can or will go on the 20th either right?)

I also had tix for 7/13 and they automatically moved mine. Unfortunately, I now can't go which I'm pretty bummed about, but they are offering refunds/ exchanges now that they've changed the tickets, so really no issue there.

This is infuriating. We bought airfare, hotel, and other show tickets based on July 13 being the last performance date.
