On what crime(s)exactly would you have a DA file charges in order to have a grand jury indict Rudin? I don't think being a "big meanie" would hold up in court.

Weinstein is serving a 23-year prison sentence for multiple instances of first, second and third degree rape -- so no it isn't the same thing. Rudin has been quietly testing the waters and I wouldn't be at all surprised if he's back with a new project or two in 2023.

If being a "big ole meanie" is a felony that a DA would bring to a grand jury, then MANY of the people on this board (myself included) would be on death row!

as rehearsed back before this thread died a natural death, Rudin definitely committed crimes (assault, battery, menacing, etc.) which may be misdemeanors or felonies but that were not pursued in light of his stepping back. Should he decide to return, the question will be whether he has actually dealt with his serious issues. If not, his return will be brief. See Drabinsky, Garth. lol

That may have been true once upon a time but no more and that is demonstrated by what happened to Rudin. If he returns and misbehaves, there will be consequences, and the whole point of our current legal framework is that it is not up to "show business" because individual victims have an arsenal of remedies.

I'll acknowledge that the comparison was not especially apt tho.
