I've been thinking a lot lately about the shows I've seen and I know there are people who go to shows multiple times hoping to see different actors/understudies play the leading and supporting roles. (i.e - a friend of mine seeing all 6 Hedwigs in the recent revival; I only managed 4).
I have managed this twice in my life - all three leading ladies (Murphy, Peters, and next week, Midler) in HELLO, DOLLY, and all three Yitzhaks in HEDWIG (Hall, Conley, and Jones).
Has anyone else been able to accomplish this with any one particular production. (Across multiple productions doesn't count.)

I saw all 6 Hedwigs (including before John Cameron Mitchell's injury and after his injury) and all three Yitzhaks for the recent Hedwig revival. What helped a lot was their in-person lottery. I worked nearby so if I was free that evening, after work I'd stop by in-person lottery, enter my name, wait 5 mins for the lottery drawing to start, and see whether I was lucky that day!

Posted: 8/10/18 at 10:18amI've seen every full-time Elder Price in every replica production of Mormon except Kevin Clay. Meaning thanks to recycling/no one leaving, I've seen every full-time Elder Price on Broadway, the 1st national tour (now closed), London, and Australia.

Pretty much every usher working on Broadway has accomplished this (or at least, the ones assigned to a regular house).

I’m proud to say I saw the original cast as well as every replacement cast during the original run of the 1998 Broadway revival of CABARET.
From the Sallys (Jennifer Jason Leigh, Molly Ringwald, etc), the Emcees (Michael C. Hall, John Stamos, etc) to the rest of the principal roles.

For the 2015 Color Purple Revival, I was able to see Cynthia Erivo, and both her understudies Bre Jackson and Adrianna Hicks as Celie. I got to see Jennifer Hudson, Heather Headley, Jennifer Holliday and Carla Stewart as Shug Avery. And Danielle Brooks and Carrie Compere as Sofia.

Technically, there was another Dolly. Linda Mugleston went on once for Bette.

I pretty much did this with American Idiot. The most variable role in this sense was St. Jimmy: I saw Tony Vincent, Billie Joe Armstrong, Melissa Etheridge, Andrew Call (my favorite), and one other that I can't remember off hand. Conversely, I saw Van Hughes play all three of the main guys.

P.J. Griffith? Davey Havok? Chase Peacock? Joshua Kobak?
I saw all the St. Jimmys (lead and understudies). Missed at least one understudy for the leads with the exception of Johnny, which I saw John Gallagher Jr, Van Hughes, and Chase Peacock (Sean Michael Murray never went on on Broadway but he did on the international tour later).
For Newsies, I saw all of the Crutchies, Daveys, and Jacks. Missed one Katherine (Molly Jobe).

Very impressive. But I’ve also seen Molly Jobe as Jenna too (understudy #2). Looking forward to Nicolette as well.

I live in SC, so I can't plan ahead for understudies. I have seen or will have seen all headlining Dollys in Hello Dolly (first Bernadette performance, saw Donna Murphy, have tickets for Bette Midler, and will see Betty Buckley on tour).
I have also seen the original cast for each company of Hamilton (Broadway, Chicago, West End, Angelica Tour and have tickets for Philip Tour) There were substitutions at each performance but like I said, I can't plan for understudies.

Saw every actress who played Velma in Hairspray full time: Linda Hart, Barbara Walsh,Isabel Keating, Leah Hocking, Michele Park, Mary Birdsong and Karen Mason. And a couple of Velma understudies: Jackie Hoffman, Susan Mosher, Gretchen Bieber. I'm from Kansas City ,Missouri, so I could never really plan for understudies, I just lucked out.

I've seen all the Evan Hansens it's been possible to see; Ben Platt, Micheal Lee Brown, Colton Ryan, Noah Galvin, Taylor Trensch, Ben Levi Ross, and Stephen Christopher Anthony. I haven't seen Roman Banks since he hasn't gone on yet and I haven't seen Noah Kieserman since tour hasn't started yet.
I've seen all the Connor's beside Micheal Lee Brown; Dan Macke, Mike Faist, Colton Ryan, Alex Boniello, Ben Levi Ross.

I completed the Dolly trifecta last night, and I'll see Betty Buckley either next year when she comes to Boston, or there's an outside chance I might be able to go to the opening stop in Cleveland this fall.

Posted: 8/12/18 at 9:48pmIt worked out so I saw Denee, Lauren, and Shoba as Natasha. But I rarely go back to a show often enough to see all the understudies, replacements, etc. Two or at most three visits is enough for me and usually I only go back because I'm taking someone with me. I like to lose myself in the show instead of comparing performances though I am glad I got to see both Bette and Donna play Dolly and both Kelli and Marin play Anna.
