I have just been listening to the cast recordign and its fantastic.
Is it me or does "Bless our show" seem very like Be our Guest from Beauty and the Beast.
It is funny how much the music resembles Alan Menkens other work with the different elements he uses. Fantastic score but

Yes - the 2nd half is certainly the Disney-half. Bless Our Show is certainly like Be Our Guest. I personally think it's a bit out of place - but, it's still a charming number and certainly extends Delores as a very caring character. When I find my Baby has a similar chord progression to Be Our Guest, interestingly!
The best bit about the CD is the lyrics that are included - as they're sometimes lost on stage (and sometimes on the recording)

I absolutely LOVE 'When I Find My Baby' and seeing it live on stage is even better, one of the funniest numbers in town.

It will most probably close next winter.
A major new pantomime production is booked there that is so big its gonna see panto revived in the West End big time!
18 months of 'Sister Act' will be more than amazing in a 2500 seat theatre!

Present cast have contracts to June 2010.
There is a huge discussion on the Broadway Board about changes - specifically a little dig at WE performers NOT transferring.
Any thoughts on who could hack it? Julia Sutton's great, but at 72 probably not.....Sheila is better known here than there....Patina obviously, but she's american anyway.........Claire Greenway as Sr Mary Patrick anyone?
Also.....Cloris Leachman as Lazarus!

Theres no need to transfer any of the UK cast except Patina. The UK cast are brilliant dont get me wrong, but theres plenty of people in NYC that could do the roles.
