What the hell does this have to do with the show? Last time I checked its not GI-Joe: The Musical!

Maybe they're doing some cross-promotion with Spider-Man??

Well I've arrived late at the party! This is a big fat fiasco in the making!

And that show curtains looks as though they are expecting someone in to do some light dusting.

It sounds like the production team from Murderous Instincts finally found work on this show...

Well I really enjoyed the production. The audience were really up for it.

The staging is divine. The sets are amazing... where do they all come from?!

The score by Alan and Glenn is witty and the book is hilarious.

Of course it's tough to comment too negatively at the moment, because they're still in rehearsals for a month, but - I think the show could - and hopefully will - be a big hit!

No. This isn't the show that was done in the US. No proejections are used. There's an amazing central revolve that has so many set pieces rise, fall and rotate from it - it's hard to know where it all comes from. The church set is incredible. Much more effective than the other production that was on there.
There's a great scene where the entire set is black and white and I just sat there wondering how and where all these bits come from. Then I remember what theatre I am in...

The only thing I didn't like was the pre-show curtain. It looked like a purple shower curtain from B&Q.

Take me to heaven
Fabolous baby
Here within these walls
how I got the calling
when I find my baby
Do the sacred mass
I could be that guy
Raise your voice
Take me to heaven (reprise)

Sunday morning fever
Lady in the long black dress
Bless our show
Here within these walls (reprise)
The life I never led
Fabulous baby (reprise)
Sister Act
When I find my baby (reprise)
The life I never lead (reprise)
Sister Act (reprise)
Spread the love around

Will be there tonight, tho i certainly hope we i dont get hit by plummeting nuns as I arrive!
Rather excited (tho not as much as I was for 'Priscilla'!) to see the show that brings Sheila Hancock back to the great big West End stage and a new Menken score- how divine!

"Will be there tonight, tho i certainly hope we i dont get hit by plummeting nuns as I arrive!"

Just don't go looking up at the wrong moment - do they wear anything under those habits?

I hope its a good show and that it stays open for some time (I wont be able to see it anytime soon, I shall be totally and completely broke after going to NY later this month). I want lots of reviews from those of you who do go please

I don't think it is doing a very good job on the marketing front, I know it hasn't opened properly yet but even the bit about the abseiling nuns only made a tiny blurb in the papers today. If I didn't spend more time than is entirely healthy browsing around here or walked past the theatre with its signage up a few weeks back, I'd have probably have never heard about it and its one of those shows that will attract a new genre of people outside the theatre world - those who like the films - how are they supposed to know about it?.

And if it's also not too much to ask, can we also get the orchestra members?

Nothing special SADM, just what I wore for the opening night of 'The Sound Of Music'.

With regards to marketing it has done quite alot.

Jonathan Ross is one of the most watched programmes on tv and they had Whoopi on promoting the show. They have been on Paul o Grady aswell performing. I've seen adverts every week in the Mail on Sunday, and im sure there are adverts elsewhere too.

Far more than Priscilla did before opening night.

Ah ok, I haven't ventured in a Sister Act thread around here before so didn't know they'd done anything -I don't watch Jonathan Ross or Paul O'Grady, so had no idea they'd done stuff there.

Uhm. Go and see the show?

:)

I don't think one can adequately accommodate your requests. You know the general story if you've seen the movie. The songs go in so many places (there are 20 of them) that it would be hard to do it properly.

The cast list is online - as is the synopsis and - when the CD comes out next month, you'll be able to hear the song placements.

But - over all - just go and see the show if you can :)
