Maybe think of yourself as Tarzan and the characters as vines. Swing from one to the next one you see. I foolishly attempted to follow Malcolm up the stairs. And it was two flights straight up and then more steps. We are very different types, Malcolm and I.

I really want to go again. Is going it at 11 the same as going in at 7 on the weekends?

It's four hours later. And it's never the same twice.

Sorry let me clarify. Does the show "reset" between 10 and 11, or are they performing straight from 7-2 on those nights.

There's a break. Each show cycles the story three times, but it also has a definitive end.

No playbill (when I was there a few weeks ago), but they handed out a program on our way out.

Apparently tonight is opening night, Thursday April 13. Good thing they extended the run past Saturday, or that might look Spider-Man-esque.

It seems they're extending based on demand. Maybe they'll extend again after reviews come out. Is this going to be the same as a normal show review wise? Do we know if all the major critics are going to be reviewing the show? I think LimelightMike should start a thread haha.

We all know they'll be extending. Ben Brantley didn't like the show in Boston, completely missed the point. Then again, he does seem like the "take him by the hand from point A to point B" type of theatergoer.

Anyway, I would like to give Duncan and Malcolm kisses on their opening.

yay-gerb- there have been some "odd" things that happened w the audience- . When I was leaving I spoke w 2 stewards and on the night I had gone, there had been one man who had gone up to the banquet table an taken a glass of "wine" in his hand and then, just stood there, they though he was having a seizure cos they kept talking to him and he wouldn't respond- finally they told him they were calling EMT and he moved- claimed he'd been "meditating"! Another woman had gone in and using a basket, collected items from different areas and used them to build her own "shrine" in a particular area.
I think the show affects different people in a different way.
BUT in any case, the action of the show was not compromised.
(seriously I would love to see the "back stage" area , I'm sure it is *ahem* "a- mazing".

Beware of SPOILERS:

Things I saw:
-Skinny guy in one of the stores on the "shop" street did an examination on what appeared to be a dead girl. She eventually woke up and they did a dance together. I think she may have been one of the witches?
-Witch orgy scene in the nightclub with Macbeth. Lady in a red dress sits in the back and watches the whole time.
-Lady Macbeth's "out damn spot" scene and her getting in the tub to cleanse herself
-Same skinny guy from shop appears to be flirting with woman w/ suitcase. It goes ok for a little bit, but she eventually slams the door in his face.
-Very pregnant Lady Macduff and Macduff have a one on one dance with each other on their couch.
-Macbeth comes home all bloodied, his wife strips him down and washes him off in their bath tub
-Lady Macduff and her husband end up at a big dance in the ballroom. The curly haired servant keeps trying to feed her what looks like milk and Lady Macduff eventually passes out. Curly haired nurse carries her off
-Big "last supper" type table scene where Banquo's ghost appears
-Lady Macduff enters the hotel. Curly haired servant and the porter wrestle with her as the servant tries to give her more of the milk. Eventually Lady Macduff is on her on and rummages through a dresser in the lobby. She then looks at a dress in front of a mirror. She storms off to the dining room where she shares another scene with the curly servant.
-Make witch lip synchs a song in the hotel
-Macbeth and curly haired servant share a scene in the cemetary, he eventually starts writing in the dirt.
-Lady with suitcases barges it, wrestles with the porter, and eventually makes a phone call.
-All characters eventually end up doing the "last supper" scene again, this time it ends with Macbeth being hanged.

I think that about sums up what I saw. If anybody can provide some insight on who the lady with the suitcase was (NOT the pregnant one)and her relationship with the skinny shop keeper, I'd appreciate it.

Also I don't think I saw Duncan all night. Did anybody see his death? I didn't see Banquo or Lady Mabeth's deaths either. And apparently Malcom was a detective? I don't recall seeing him all night either.

Extended once more!
Tickets are now on sale through June 4!
And they've altered the entrance times: 7:00, 7:15, 7:30, 7:45, and 8:00PM. I wonder if it'll just be less people coming in more often?

@NotScott

The woman with the suitcase is not a character from Macbeth. She is The Second Mrs. DeWinters, a character from the novel Rebecca. On the program it has her listed as Agnes Naismith. Not sure about hte name change but that IS her character. Not sure about the skinny shop keeper. His character's name in the program is Mr. Bargarran The curly haired woman that gave Lady Macbeth the milk was another character from Rebecca, Ms. Danvers. Her name is Catherine Campbell in the program. Malcolm is indeed a detective. You did see Duncan, he is the older man that stands up in the middle of the banquet scene.

Beyond excited over the extension! I can't imagine this won't run at least through the summer.

The thing is, yay, all of the non-MacBeth character names are associated with the Scottish Paisley Witch Trials. And none of the characters look the Rebecca characters any more. The woman terrorizing Lady MacDuff behaves EXACTLY the way Mrs. Danvers behaved in Boston, but she doesn't look like Mrs. Danvers. I can only assume that they didn't want to impinge on copyrights of the Hitchcock film, but it's a change that doesn't work so well, in my opinion.

It does seem a bit confusing, and i totally agree about the copyright conflict. I refer to the characters by their Rebecca names, usually. The fans of the show most likely know this and the people who see the show once don't seem to really be affected by it.

Another great review for the show, although most of the reviews and articles i read about Sleep No More basically say the same thing. You can touch things, you can follow people, theres a lot of nudity, theres an orgy, and wear comfortable shoes.

no review from the NYT yet but there is a new slide show that has some great pictures and a quote from Brantley. I'm assuming that means there will be an official review?

Great for ll involved in this spectacular theatrical event! May it run a long, long time!

Note: My second visit to the show was completely different then the first. I discovered the Witches Rave room which I quickly realized was the nightmare version of the bar we were first admitted into before donning the masks. Thought it was brilliant. Was spirited away by Hecate after her performance.... WOW!

I read this thread and keep getting bummed that I seem to have followed the less interesting characters all night. I didn't really know what I was going into (tried to avoid spoilers before), so I ended up following the "second Mrs. Dewinter" character through her track almost twice. I barely saw most of the Macbeth characters. I walked out feeling like I'd been living in suspense for three hours but that it had built to nothing really. Now I'm almost wanting to go back and explore more and find some of the more interesting characters to follow.
