This revival is maybe kinda sorta a big deal and I'm wondering if there really is any chance of it getting filmed (professionally) for release. Wasn't there someone important who said a while ago they really wanted to film it?
Unforunately it will probably not be filmed. If the recent Night Music was not, this will probably meet the same fate.

You both make very valid points.

Someone should do a Kickstart (is that what it's called?) to raise the money.
I was gonna ask Alan Menken, but something tells me he wouldn't give anything for it.
I'd rather the movie musical still happen.
A friend who works for PBS told me that they are interested, but that it'd likely require traditional filming $ concessions from both the cast and musicians (and their unions) to make it viable.
LOL. BWW 'fixed' the thread.

I think I read somewhere that unfortunately it will probably not be filmed. If the recent Night Music was not, this will probably meet the same fate.
I heard from some inside sources that unfortunately it will probably not be filmed. If the recent Night Music was not, this will probably meet the same fate.

It could be a way for the Kennedy Center to make some of their money back -- or to lose some more. I wish they'd do a Fathom Live event with it, like they're doing for Phantom, and did for Company, etc.
Unfortunately it will probably not be filmed. If The Frogs was not, this will probably meet the same fate.

Fortunately, I had sort of a mystical dream in which it WAS filmed. It never happens to me with Night Music (or the Frogs!) so I just it might just be fate.

What we need is a drink petition
I agree
It's 'already' been filmed upteen times. Let's hope for a professionally filmed copy available for purchase where the sound equals the film qualities.

Why would you put already in quotes? Yes, we know there are bootlegs. I think, no, I know that it's understood that we're talking about a professional filming.

I assume that is an "homage" to the late, great "Belle" Poitrine, whose literary "style" I adore.
That's "an" obscure reference!
