This revival is maybe kinda sorta a big deal and I'm wondering if there really is any chance of it getting filmed (professionally) for release. Wasn't there someone important who said a while ago they really wanted to film it?
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

A friend who works for PBS told me that they are interested, but that it'd likely require traditional filming $ concessions from both the cast and musicians (and their unions) to make it viable.
I heard from some inside sources that unfortunately it will probably not be filmed. If the recent Night Music was not, this will probably meet the same fate.
It could be a way for the Kennedy Center to make some of their money back -- or to lose some more. I wish they'd do a Fathom Live event with it, like they're doing for Phantom, and did for Company, etc.
Fortunately, I had sort of a mystical dream in which it WAS filmed. It never happens to me with Night Music (or the Frogs!) so I just it might just be fate.
Why would you put already in quotes? Yes, we know there are bootlegs. I think, no, I know that it's understood that we're talking about a professional filming.
