IMO, La Cage will win, not by default (that happened the last time) but because it's the best revival of a musical this season. Period. Little Night Music was not universally praised (except for the two ladies), and neither was Ragtime, a show not to everyone's taste (and I liked it). Finian's Rainbow is now a bleep on the radar screen and, enjoyable as it was, is gone for too long (I know, Hallelujah, Baby! was long since closed when it won, but consider the competition that year).
I hope Finian's or Night Music surprise us...but not likely.

I agree with Ed Mottershead. LA CAGE should win, although FINIAN's RAINBOW holds a place in my heart--it was captivating. And I hope that Christopher Fitzgerald, as Og, wins the Tony for best supporting actor in a musical.
As for HALLELUJAH BABY!, it provided at long last a Tony for the great Jule Styne, who had not even been nominated for best score for GYPSY!!! Where is justice at Tony time?
"What I saw of La Cage was messy..." Can we just agree that it isn't worth judging something you haven't SEEN?
La Cage was the best revival of the season. I loved Ragtime but felt the more spare production brought some of the book's issues more to the surface. Night Music had its moments, but it's a weak production. And I know I'm in the minority here, but Finian's did nothing for me. La Cage not only has the benefit of still running, it happens to be one of the best productions on Broadway right now.
It was a pretty terrible musical season, definitely, but for me there were two very bright spots: La Cage and Ragtime. For doing the best service to the source material (and for erasing the terrible '02 production from memory), the award belongs to the queens.
I agree about Ragtime, Mildred. For me, Finian's was by far the best revival this season, followed closely by Night Music. I found La Cage to be nothing that special. I love the show, but found this production to be no less commercial or campy than the 2005 revival. It's just smaller. Nothing more.
I think the right choices were nominated for revival. But I definitely felt La Cage was overrated. I had a good time, and enjoyed it more than Promises. But the show and Hodge did not live up to the hype for me. I will be very pleased if Hodge doesn't win on June 13th. I just don't think he's deserving. I actually enjoyed Grammer more than him.
I found La Cage to be awful. Hodge gave one of the most over the top, self-indulgent performances I've seen in years. I'll be pleased if any of the other nominees besides Chad Kimball beats him.
For my money, Ragtime was the best revival of the season, followed by A Little Night Music.
I found Finian's Rainbow to be a bore and wanted to fall asleep about 20 minutes into the show.
