Hey everyone, I just discovered this thread on google. Wow this is great. I just wanted to introduce myself, my name is Alex and i've seen the show 6 times, maybe more, I need to count again, in Chicago, and I will be going again to the adult bee next week. Is this sorta the main online place to exchange "Bee" discussion. Just wondering, cus i've tried to find a sort of online spelling bee forum and have never found one, I guess this is the place then. I somehow got found myself seeing the show twice in as many weeks over my winter break, not sure how that happened, but heck, I dont mind.
Anyways, just a few notes... On 12/31 JEFFREY JAMES BINNEY and CHRISTINE BUNUAN were in for Barff and Rona Lisa. On 1/3 ROBIN ALEXIS CHILDRESS was in for Marcy and C.B was in again for Rona Lisa. All the u/s were very good. Robin made a few minor errors, but Jeffey and Chrstine were right on the money for most of the show, so props to them. I got to talk with the amazing Christen Paige and she told me that they had not yet started to rehearse for the adult night, but they are all really excited. I also thought it was interesting to see how the show changed, seeing it only days later. When I've seen it before, there has always been about a month at least in between. Several new words came up in the 1/3 bee and Chrstine Werny did different amazing rants about Christmas and New Years Resolutions. Just wanted to say hi everyone!
Anyone know how long Sara is staying on Broadway? As sad as I was to see her and the rest of the cast go, I am uber proud she is joining the Broadway Cast, even if it only temporary.
"The Opposite of War isn't Peace, it's Creation!"
"Tittup. WHAT? You're word is tittup."
"I don't have a magic foot. Or a mother."
"I'm so stressed by my stress I just want to up and vomit."
Does anyone know what happened to the original Rona Lisa and Panch from Chicago. I dont remember their names, but they were there and then they were gone. Did their contracts expire...?
liotte.. i also saw the show again last night.. (i believe you said you saw the evening) my aunt got to be a speller.. she was the blonde woman with the pink shirt sitting on the first bench.. it was great last night wasn't it?

After all, seasons change. So do cities. People come into your life and people go. But it's comforting to know the ones you love are always in your heart. And if you're very lucky, a plane ride away" -sex and the city
If anyone is still considering going to the adult bee on friday, you can use the code : ADULT when ordering for 29 buck tickets...too bad I didnt know this when my friends and I ordered, we coulda saved 40 bucks a piece. Oh well.

Saw the show tonight (in NYC), Sara Inbar was fantastic. She is so adorable as Logainne. It was nice to see her on Broadway one more time after seeing her 4 times in Boston. Great timing seeming that I was home from college.
Lisa Yuen was on for Peretti! She is hillarious as Ms. Peretti, and I definitely prefer her Peretti to her Marcy.
for the 21st time, all i can say is "Wow"... the show never ceases to amaze me. The same old jokes make me crack up. Jose Llana and Deborah Craig's voices are incredible. Jessica Snow Wilson is so vulnerable and cute (though I would kill to see see Jenni Barber again). Derrick Baskin is hillarious and has fantastic riffs. Barret's faces are the funniest things I think I have ever seen. Lisa Yuen's comments to Panche are great (as was her "There is no humping at the bee line" during pandemonium when Josh Gad was humping her desk). Josh Gad's "applause" gesture is the best thing ever. I love the show! I just wish it were doing better. The show could not have been more than at 50% capacity. I know it is a slow week for Broadway, but I just feel bad for the actors who pour their hearts out for such a little crowd. Even so, I commend them for poutting on such a greta performance reguardless of who is in the crowd.
Anyway, I wrote this to praise Ms. Inbar... I just have to praise the whole cast. They have so much chemistry and energy! It's too bad Sara is leaving this week!
On a side note: after the show, I saw Jared Gertner (Boston Barfee), Jenni Barber (Boston Olive :) ), and Veronica Reyes (Boston Marcy u/s) who saw the show to see and support Sara. It was great to see them again. I wish them the best of luck on auditions in NY, and I hope to see them on a stage soon!
Thank you for the review! It's great that the rest of the SF/Boston cast has been there to support Sara. I saw Aaron there on Sunday night when I saw it, now I need to go see him on in ACL.
I saw him in ACL... well, kind of... I went last Saturday afternoon, and even though he was supposed to start on Tuesday, there were two male understudies on, so they needed him to be one of the cut dancers... I think he was Butch (he was E. Cornelius's part). Anyway, he was great for the number he was in. You would have never guessed he had just started. And, as always, his stage presence is phenomenal. I really want to see himn as Paul
I saw the tour in Seattle tonight (first time seeing the show in general), and it was amazing! All of the cast members were on, and they blew me away.
"I've never been in a gymnasium with a chandelier before!"
I'd never heard of Lauren Worsham (Olive) before, but she was such a sweet Olive, I was very impressed. She was my favorite cast member of the night, such a great voice too.
Logainne's (Sarah Stiles) rant was hilarious. It was about Effie White being kicked out of Dreamgirls, and how even though Beyonce was more "bootylicious," Hudson would still take the Oscar. And then she sang "and you you you you're gonna looooooove me!" and it was so funny.
Stage door was great. There were only four of us there, and everyone came out and hung around for quite a while. All the girls are so incredibly sweet! And short. :) We got to talk to James Kall (Panch) for like 20 minutes because he was the first one out and he was waiting for a cab right next to us. But then we ran out of things to say... They were all so sweet and posed for pictures and everything. Jennifer Simard (Rona Lisa) was thanking us repeatedly for waiting in the 20 degree weather for all of them.
I'm now a true Spelling Bee lover! The tour rocks. Let me know if you guys want to know any other details.
Just got back from the chicago parent teacher night. It was well done, but the CUT OUT THE I LOVE YOU SONG! I'll try to write some sort of a review when i get a chance, though i have a feeling someone will beat me. It was very similar to the other adult nights from what i have heard, but they did make some obvious changes.
