If what I overheard last Sunday was true, Phoebe was Ilse and Jenn Damiano was Anna this matinee. They swung Lauren out to give her experience in the role, I believe.

Phoebe played has played Ilse before- off-broadway at the Atlantic when Lauren was ill.

The recording of "Those You've Known" does NOT do justice to the raw emotion that goes on on stage in that number. I was blown away when I saw it, and there's always something a little disappointing just hearing it on the CD. There's just not that raw pain in Jonathan Groff's voice.

that guys version of "word of your body" on the forbidden site is really good. however, the video was a little much.

I agree. I mean, dont get me wrong, the recording is SO SO pretty, and I love it, but I'd choose it live any day just because of the sheer emotion that goes into it. Honestly, I'd want Groff to get a tony nomination just for that scene ALONE, let alone the fact that he's also great in the rest of the show :P

but all three of them are just really. really. amazing.

Phoebe was on as Ilse yesterday matinee and she was very good. I liked her a lot.

I saw you guys with the poster. I was like aww that's so great! haha.

I thought Pheoebe was amazing as Ilse. It was my first time, but you couldn't tell she was an understudy. She has suchh a beautiful voice.

lauren swung out because she is the dance captain, and it's in the contract that the dance captain has to sit out and watch once every three weeks or so, which is why phoebe played ilse and someone else played anna. but lauren was still there, and well.

and yeah, I'm still confused as to why Krysta and Pheobe switched places though. Because if Krysta was out it'd make sense that Pheobe went on as Ilse, but Krysta was there, and she's the usual Ilse understudy, no? Did they just want to give Pheobe some more practice with the role?

great stuff on the forbidden site...I love the cast recording but seeing it live is something else....it tears your heart out more and I also think that Purple Summer is better live especially when they go accapello...it is more emotional

i know, i absolutely love these interviews. they are all so incredibly sweet, and so sincere and genuine. ugh, i eat up everything they say!! what a fantastic cast, my favorites, obviously.

i swear, everytime i see this thread i can't pass over it, i always feel the need to post and spill my heart out about how much i love this show. i can't get enough of it, i think that i've fallen in love, hahaha.
