They're doing this re-cast with the intent of bringing fresh faces to the production. I think most of the cast staying will continue in their current roles.
I'm not one to speculate anything. I always wait until an OFFICIAL announcement to get my info. Rumors are usually proven untrue (granted there seems to be SOME info that could be reliable). I'm sure the new cast will be great! Calm down until there is something is officially announced! In due time, my friends.
And I would't say that rumors "usually" end up not being true. Otherwise people would never believe them. They're true enough of the time that people are still willing to buy them.
Anyone get tickets through the snow day special today?
Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.
Jackie's Sheila is fantastic. She has a gorgeous voice.
According to several people on Twitter, she's leaving the show on the 7th. She's not going to London, but she is leaving the show. Updated On: 2/10/10 at 08:27 PM
If Jackie is leaving that pretty much confirms Diana Degarmo will be the new Sheila. Who else could it be, at this point?
I'm frankly surprised the show hasn't made any official announcement yet about her joining the cast. Maybe they are waiting until she arrives for rehearsals this weekend?
Perhaps Jackie Burns is going back into ROCK OF AGES?

The only two names in the rumor mill have been Jackie and Diana. Nobody else has emerged. Sheila is going to be Diana, I'm certain of it now that Jackie is leaving the show.
I've seen the show several times, but as unexpected as it might have been given the size of the audience, the energy tonight was the best I've seen it yet. The audience was small but mighty, and the cast was really feeding off of that. I hadn't been to see the show in a while, but they were clearly having a great time with tonight's audience, and they were all on fire. Swenson and Creel were better than ever. I'm so glad I went. I haven't seen an audience like that in a long, long time, and especially with a show like Hair, the impact that has on the show makes it really memorable.
Tonight's audience was incredible. Everyone was on fire.
Does anyone know what the deal is with Jeannette Bayardelle? She's on the company board in the lobby, but she's not listed anywhere in the Playbill (which is weird to me.)
People here seemed to think she was taking over for Krystal Brown as Abe Lincoln, but that's not the case. Nicole Lewis has assumed the Abe Lincoln track and Chasten Harmon is now in Nicole's old Aretha Franklin track. Chasten's still credited in the playbill as a swing, but she wasn't up on the board as an understudy.
Is Jeannette an uncredited swing in Chasten's place for the moment? I assume she's taking over for Dionne next month and Nicole (who isn't going to London) will remain Abe Lincoln permanently?
