They've had a workshop for it I think. And Adam Pascal was in it. I THINK
Yes, he was !!

Sadly enough, yes.
I wasn't too impressed with the movie's score - the songs were even sung, they were played in the background as some cheesy backup music.
This wouldn't be my first choice for a Disney stage musical.

I don't think it'll be good musical, either. It just sounds corny.

I didn't like the Tarzan Disney movie much, either.
Matt Morisson was in it too. But I don't think the musical will be any good.

I think Little Mermaid or Aladin would be a good musical. I know Little Mermaid has had a few readings, but are there any plans to bring Aladin to Broadway?
Tarzan is definitely not my first choice, Phil Collins? UGH!
Mulan would be great, bring Lea Salonga back to the stage, and the story and music are amazing.
Honorable Mention: Pocahontas

Ditto on Mulan. It would be a great musical, imagine what they could do with the set and costumes.
I'll third Mulan. Imagine the fight scenes choregraphed as dances. It would be great. And yes for Lea Salonga, she needs to be back up on the Broadway stage.

Oh, the fights would be spectacular. Someone call Disney and make them nix Tarzan. There are a lot of great asain theatre styles to draw from, too, they could make it really culturally rich and beautiful.
I can see Mulan being a serious piece of theatre, well more serious that Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King (sry fans of both!)

I think Mulan could be serious, too, and less Disney-manufactured than Lion King if done right.
Yes, you put it better than i did. Thanks! Just imagining the types of songs they could write for it. wow! :)
...hey, a hot guy running around naked on Broadway is fine with me. Go Tarzan! Also, "You'll Be In My Heart" would be an awesome moment in the show.... I say go for it!
yes, that would be one good point of the show. *pictures it*
Yay for Adam, of course... but I don't know how I feel about the idea of the musical itself. I never had much desire to see the movie... maybe I'll check it out.

i would also like to see hercules and hunchback of notordam as stage musicals!!! :)
Could Lea Salonga be Mulan?
I want Hunchback to come to the US (and I want to direct it, Lol).
LEA IS MULAN! (well at least her singing voice, I think Ming Na from "ER" was her speaking voice)
Lea would be the perfect Mulan.
Hercules would be an amazing production, and Hunchback I imagine would be too. These are all more serious Disney movies, which could be serious Disney musicals. Hercules isn't as serious as Mulan and Hunchback, but I think it'd be good. Mulan and Hunchback would change my perspective of Disney on Broadway if they did it right.

Does no one else think Aladin would be a good show?
Hmmmm, the big thing with Disney is if it was done right. Alladin would be amazing if done right, ie. flying carpets, giant genie. It'd be a huge spectacle, and I didn't really like the music that much...so I don't know if it'd work as an actual good musical as much as a typical Disney spectacle.
