Or Andrew Rannells."
Ohhhhh I wouldn’t mind seeing either of them. My friend and I just passed on BOM lottery tickets but maybe we’ll just buy tickets instead of waiting for another lottery win if either are announced.
Only when the show is sold-out. Don't think they've been soldout at all this winter.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

That's hysterical. At least it worked for that number.

Current rumor floating around, Jujamcyn wants the Eugene O’Neil for an open run of Into the Woods

BOM is still grossing ~$1 million a week. I don't see it closing soon. I also don't see ITW needing an open run. I think it's current run until January is fine.

Not saying you didn't hear a rumor somewhere, but the idea of Jujamcyn wanting to replace a show that's still drawing more people in its 12th year on Broadway with a show in its 5th month that's drawing less (and has been steadily decreasing for the past month) is pretty far-fetched.

Should add it’s a rumor from sweaty oracle guy and a side eye emoji.

The rumor makes little sense if you look at BOM's grosses. Its capacity is above 95% and it grosses are relatively in line with where they were in Fall of 2019. If its grosses consistently fell below $900K with covid protocol costs or more realistically $750-$800K, it would have some validity, It makes little sense for Jujamcyn to close BOM, when Hadestown has consistently been the runt of the Jujcamcyn shows since June.
Into the Woods recent grosses don't truly justify a transfer. Although I do see a possibility of it being brought back for a Spring/Awards season run if Sara can find time in her schedule, but other then that I am I can't see producers being able to offset the cost of moving the production after already having to pay the relocation price of The Piano Lesson at current gross levels. If they can get Sara back, I can see them trying to book the run at a a less in demand theateralla Chicago at the Ambassador, so either the Jones, Lyceum, or Belasco, which should mean if its just as successful in the spring it does allow for it to transition to an open ended run. It does still leave the possibility of it going into the Kerr, especially looking at Hadestown's current grosses its hard to imagine it lasts past the winter unless we see a major casting announcement.
Back to the point though, Book of Mormon isn't going anywhere, at least during this season. Its been open for more then 10 years and if history is any indicator, long running staples announce their closings between 3-6months in advance, and its grosses are no where near what we would traditionally consider concerning. Add to that there will likely be at least a 3 month renovation at the O'Neill after BoM closes, like there is at every theater after a long running production closes. As such doing some basic math unless BoM were to announce an early January closing today, which does not seem likely, there is barely enough turn around time to get another production into the O'Neill before the Tony cut-off.
If the producers of ITW want to keep it running, what are other theaters it could potentially transfer to that are available for the Spring?
