Why is it my dream to know someone who can hook me up with unreleased cast albums?

But then you would get things like Paradise Square and Lestat...

I am sure people will be out in brigades to tear this to shreds. But I am afraid I enjoy the new song!

Chicago was a hot mess of a show but I remember liking How To Survive at Runway, Girl for the Job, and Your Twenties. Excited to hear them again after all this time.

The logo is perfect but the show suffers and it's more of an event to see than a good musical. I think Vanessa Williams help to keep it afloat in that huge Dominion Theatre. I doubt a Broadway transfer and if so it needs some work. For a show about fashion the costumes were blah +.

Having given up halfway through that song, it didn’t sound like the lyrics fit the character of Andy at all? Maybe they changed her for the stage show.

I haven't seen it but it seems people want to see it because of the name, not because it's a great show, as you mentioned. Short term that will work but that's about it. My friend saw the show and she described the fashion as "Costco Chic" which also was the case in Chicago which is embarrassing AF, considering the material. Even the merch looks like sh*t.

Lovely to have you back SR!  I see you are as charming as ever.  Love you -- mean it.

Well, speaking for someone who actually HAS seen the show, it is attracting that kind of common denominator fun night out crowd who aren’t really looking for Fun Home. They just want a fun night out and I think they get that thanks to Vanessa Williams and some of the other cast.

It’s in a massive barn and it’s been running for a while. Something appears to be working.

I don’t think I’ll find myself listening to it again much.

"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022) "Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009) "Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000
