That's correct. Tomorrow is opening and Monday is press opening.
Correct. They have their opening night performance tomorrow at six followed by their party but reviews won't come out til Monday when the show "officially" opens. I think "How to dance in Ohio" did this as well as a few other shows recently.
I'm curious. I have balcony tickets for Monday. Did they close off the balcony and move people down? The seating map is still largely empty for that day and I'm trying to figure if there's a way to be...not up there

I had Balcony B101 and it was excellent.

Yes, can confirm it worked well.
Corey Cott was at Kelly Ripa’s show yesterday! Looks like they’re doing the media circuit and hopefully it will help generate ticket sales. I really enjoyed watching this show back in its first preview and am planning to go on Monday at its (press) opening night since tix are being sold to it.
In the interview they pretty much state this is a very 80s show from its story (inspired by John Hughes films) to obviously the music.
Looks like tonight was the Opening Night Celebration, with the official critics' opening happening on Monday.

Kinda like what Cabaret is doing. Tonight is the Gala Night, and Monday is Press Night.

For those who have won the lottery, where are the seats?

Really enjoyed the show tonight. Wasn’t expecting much but was blown away by the cast. All amazing singers and high energy dancing. As someone said above, surprised they all have a six pack. It was funny and sweet with a heart. I hope (suspect) it will get good reviews (as much as Jesse Green doesn’t like a jukebox).
I had balcony B101 -- it was a great view.

New York Times has assigned Elizabeth V to review.
I like her.
Regardless of the review I hope this show finds its audience. All my friends who love Huey’s music and 80s movies (John Hughes) had a great time at the show.

so the NYT currently has Jesse, Elizabeth, Maya and Naveen all doing these reviews? With that roster, it would be great if they assigned two critics per show.

Elizabeth and Naveen are both freelancer, which is they both also write for The Washington Post.

Loved this, it is dumb, corny and over the top and never pretends like it is trying to be anything else.
Great performances, so much fun, any other season it would be a sleeper hit but sadly is going to get washed away in the tsunami of openings.
This will do well regionally, anywhere that does Rock of Ages or The Wedding Singer will program this for sure.
See it if you can, a total blast of a evening and the audience ate it up

It’s probably the best new musical to open this season - even being Jukebox.
It really could end up the TONY contender no one saw coming."
theres a reason why no one saw it coming
better luck on your TONY ballot next year

I feel awful for Corey Cott. He deserves to be in a long running show
I just had the best time at this show. This cast is giving its all . . . the choreography is hella good. Besides the choreography this show’s book deserved a Tony nomination, too. Sad more audiences won’t get to see this one because it is so much fun.

I’m assuming you mean a newer show aside from Newsies (in which he performed all but the first 6 months of the 2 year run)

I’m at the matinee now. The website states children under 4 are not allowed yet someone has a 2 or 3 year old with them. I think it’s someone in the cast’s family member which doesn’t give it a pass. The kid is clearly not ready for theatre since mom has left several times during act 1 to calm the child down

Did you ask to see a birth certificate so you could verify that the kid was 3 (and not 4)? Seems like as long as the parent took them out to the lobby, what's the problem? I'll take a few seconds of a crying infant over a grown ass adult talking, singing along, illegally filming and shoveling food in their faces any day!

Yes- I forgot about Newsies! You're correct. Or he could replace someone in one of Broadway's longer running shows...not quite sure which one though
No disrespect to his brother, but he’d be a fabulous Christian in Moulin Rouge!.

I actively have a three-year-old and would never do this. For example, I saw the show last night and my wife is going to the last performance this afternoon as a workaround.
That said, however annoying you find being in an audience with a child who can't sit through a performance, I assure you it's 20X more excruciating for the parent/s trying to control the situation.
