re: The Future of Bailey?

Bailey was lackluster as Elle, I think she would do well in a role where she doesn't have to act. She could probably be successful in Mamma Mia, because she could just be weird and sing ABBA songs. I know that she auditioned for Disney casting agents a while ago, so maybe she will get in a show with them. We'll see!

re: The Future of Bailey?

Bailey will probably be cast in some smaller roles, which will allow her to build her resume up a bit. Autumn shouldn't have a problem finding work. I was actually rooting for her to win the reality show instead of Bailey. It's funny that several of the runner - ups on the TV show will enjoy longer runs with Legally Blonde than the winner.

"Fiona in Shrek"
Please no. She is no where near quirky enough and that role IS Sutton Foster. I see her more as a Glinda or Amber/penny...
Cant see her as Ariel either. And I dont think she can pull of June in Gypsy.

re: The Future of Bailey?

My mom was saying today that she thinks that because Bailey and Autumn won the roles through an MTV show, that MTV is going to have to make it up to them somehow. It's because they were casted, but now the show is closing after a very short run for them, and they cannot kick the other girls off the tour for them. Granted, I don't know what MTV will do, but that was part of my mom's theory.

re: The Future of Bailey?

The producers don't really owe them anything. They gave them their shot and their broadway debut. I'm sure Bernie might try to place them at another show (maybe Bailey as Amber with Autumn as Penny haha).

re: The Future of Bailey?

Considering how Bernie was always Bailey's biggest cheerleader on the show, I wouldn't be surprised if he continued casting her in his shows.

I do know that she had an audition with Disney a while ago, so who knows. Maybe they will cast her something.

If she could handle Elle 8x a week. I honestly doubt she would have the slightest trouble with June in Gypsy.

re: The Future of Bailey?

I'm sure Bailey can sing Galinda's belting parts if she can sing Elle's, and I'm assuming that she has a fairly strong soprano since she was in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. I'd have to hear her.

But, really, she wouldn't be the first weak soprano to play Galinda, either.

re: The Future of Bailey?

Guys, she has exactly ONE professional credit on her resume with NO training.

If Telsey was truly a supporter, he would tell her to get her degree from one of the "big" theater schools and come back to NY after four years.

re: The Future of Bailey?

Training with the famous Joan Lader doesn't count???

Even if it was after she won the series, it still counts.

re: The Future of Bailey?

Trust me on this. In casting, it's all about the degree now.

I don't doubt you. But you cannot say she has NO training now. Joan Lader on a resume will look VERY good.

re: The Future of Bailey?

She could at least understudy Galinda without playing her full-time.

re: The Future of Bailey?

I meant no accredited conservatory training which is what the casting directors--for better or worse--are all about these days.

I'm afraid the days of the young hopeful coming to NY, studying with local teachers at the Actors Studio or with big voice teachers or whatever, and then slowly working their way to Broadway or even off-Broadway fame have pretty much gone the way of Stritch's hymen. It's about the degree now.

re: The Future of Bailey?

I cannot see her as Doralee in 9 to 5. It really has to be someone a bit older and who does not appear as naive. Meagan Hilty was flawless.

re: The Future of Bailey?

Since Katie Adams is most likely going to be bumped up to lead Glinda and one of the understudies is going to be bumped up to standby Glinda, Wicked needs another Glinda understudy(this is all speculation on my part. It's NOT really gonna happen unless I'm right...LOL). I think Bailey would be a good fit in the show.
