Posted: 3/4/15 at 10:41amI am a part of the onstage choir at Paper Mill. It is really unbelievable, with Arden giving an AMAZING performance. You don't want to miss this.

Posted: 3/5/15 at 10:53amI was supposed to go this afternoon but the performance has been cancelled. I'm kind of bummed because today was the only day I could've seen it, so I'm looking forward to other people's thoughts! RippedMan, and anyone else who may have tickets to the night show, call after 3 PM because they aren't sure if they are doing a night show yet.

Is the narration still in it?

Posted: 3/5/15 at 5:30pmI won't say too much as I hate relaying information that will be used to pre-judge a piece, but the narration is still there, working even better in the PaperMill production. The work keeps haunting me throughout the day. I can't remember the last time I've been so affected... Perhaps Stritch's At Liberty or Grey Gardens. I will be returning as much as possible. Menken, Schumacher, Schwartz Squared, Parnell were all there. Father Schwartz was particularly moved after the preview-- more humble than I've ever seen him before. It was a very special theatrical experience... Improving on the cartoon feature and even the Mandy Patinkin feature. Arden is a revelation. Page is electrifying. The book is very well written. Menken has improved his score. Renee is a star-to-be. All the makings for a very successful run in New York. Regardless if it makes the transfer, it is something that I will never forget in my 30+ years of theatergoing.

Posted: 3/5/15 at 5:45pm^Whoa. That was a statement! What song changes are there? How is the narration improved?

Posted: 3/5/15 at 6:19pmythc2013, You aren't related to the production in any way, correct? I only ask because there seems to be many choir members and crew members of this production on this board.

Posted: 3/5/15 at 7:40pmGlad to hear that first Glowing Report. Had tix for today, damn snow. Not surprised because the show in LaJolla was so wonderful! I've heard there are no major song changes just some subtle mood differences. The humor of FLIGHT INTO EGYPT, I hear is gone. Can't wait to see it Again soon.

#24The Hunchback of Notre Dame at Paper Mill
Posted: 3/6/15 at 8:23am^Stop that. I didn't like the La Jolla version that much, but it's okay if others loved it. Maybe it has improved and we don't know yet?

Posted: 3/6/15 at 8:49amWhat are you talking about? Who said it wasn't okay if people liked La Jolla? My question to Nate was not being snarky. Calm yourself.
